Exactly. I shouldn't have to keep a notebook or spreadsheet just to have some idea of what happened in my league straight in my head.

I have 0 expectations because every year I get psyched and then disappointed.


This time last year we had already been lied to about "realistic contracts" and we were just 3 weeks prior to all of our feedback in the beta getting ignored.


This go around I'm just gonna sit back, expect nothing, and hopefully end up with another fun game. Expecting Madden to progress or focus on Franchise just isn't worth my time anymore. It's not going to happen and I'm not wasting my energy dreaming about it anymore.

I'm pretty much at the apathy stage for Madden at this juncture. Don't get me wrong, I loved M20...played multiple franchises deeper than I had for any other previous version of the game (I've played them all). I had a blast developing teams and players, I grew attached to fictitious players I drafted and really got engaged in the mode.

But even if they build upon 20's foundation; I'm not sure they can take another big step forward and add another layer of immersion. Sure, adding more non-boosting scenarios and including CPU scenarios (IF...big if....properly integrated with the news stories and in-game commentary) could do that.

But the biggest thing we need and I don't think we'll ever see it (thus the reason for my apathy). We need more adversity! Everything in the mode is about "gains". Gain XP, gain confidence, gain higher dev traits, etc. If all you want to eat is cake, then go for it. But I ate my fill of cake in M20...I need my main course now.

The only interest I have is whether they port it to the Switch. Once SMB3 came out, I just need a football or hockey game to make the jump onto the Switch, and this would sure do it!

I'm thinking you are gonna see a big upgrade on franchise mode, maybe not on this initial reveal but soon ...

Have to be careful not get too caught up in the next gen version allure. It could easy for some to see the graphical leap and get blinded. For me, that wouldn't entice me. Unless they show off a physics engine/gameplay engine, prettier visuals won't entice me to buy.

With EA Play being the following week, I expect June 1st to be another sizzle trailer and some screen shots. I wouldn't expect any concrete info on the game itself outside of showing off a trailer

After they release a few mediocre features that we most likely had in Madden 2010, they will also say that they couldn't go all in on Madden 21 because they had to focus on making the game for the next generation of consoles.
