The mere fact they are basically saying "we're going to give you franchise news soon" counts as hype. And especially since they received so much backlash from #fixmaddenfranchise, you KNOW that whatever they throw in is going to be some lame, sorry, pitiful, attempt... something like "now, you get to choose which reporter will follow your team all season!"

It's standard operating procedure in case something doesn't make it through the quality testing phase and the game going gold in one or two weeks. Interesting, yet they aren't pounding social media every day about the add-in towards launch date, yet, people on social media are asking for news now. Anyone who falls for the hype and thinks something spectacular and huge will be thrown in at the last minute will be in for a surprise and it's their own fault.

Pretty much this. EA is a big company, social media was trending with #FixMaddenFranchise, its just policy to put out a statement in that case. And “looking into bolstering franchise” is as bland of a blanket statement as you can make. It’s simply PR don’t expect anything of substance, if they wanted to bolster franchise mode they would have, instead they invested in the usual and the new yard mode.

If what you say is true then they should revert the whole game back to the ps2 version and build upon that. But that is just wishful thinking.
