I'm not a big fan of creating the avatar. But to be fair, I didn't spend much time on it.

Thanks! Is create a coach the same in CFM? Player customization the same in CFM?

It is available for PC if you have Access Premier.


Not sure if its server load but these menu seem clunky as hell. I definitely get the impression they spent majority of their time working on Next gen but I guess we will see when that releases.


So far it feels very similar, the running plays at first glance aren't as OP as they were last year. They've tuned some of the money plays on defense, but barely theyre mostly still getting home against AI.



A very weird glitch I've had already 3x in one game when running. I will appear to break a tackle and then about 5 yards down the field I will go into the animation that they actually tripped me, but I was long free of the lineman.

See this is kind of what I am talking about. Older gamers like myself do not care about avatar. I have an avatar on my Xbox 360 and other devices only because my 8 year old likes playing on it and doing those silly things.

On the grand scheme of things, I know it is not that serious but in an era where you have limited resources, you have to use those resources wisely. Not one single person said "hey, man... this game really need avatars."

1st half over very early impression

Everything feels very similar other than the fact the cpu QB scrambled very very smartly and well.

1st half stats colts(me) vs philly(cpu)
All pro and simulation settings

No penalties

CPU combinef had 5 attempts for 1 yard

Frank Reichs sleeves clip with his arms and looks terrible. If they do the coach cut scenes a lot this year it will drive me nuts.

CPU didnt run the ball once in the second half

No penalties entire game

I forgot to mention the cpu let the clock run out 1st half on the 7 yard line with a timeout left

Impression after 1 game is honestly I'm very underwhelmed.

Passing accuracy is waaaaay jacked. Played the preseason game to see backups and the fact there were a total of 3 incompletions is nonsense.

Simulation mode and no penalties? That's worrisome.

CPU running game was abysmal. Too early to tell if it's a problem but I'm worried.

Darius Leonard doesn't have an Xfactor ability? Hes arguably the best linebacker in the league lmao

Graphics are good as always other than a few clipping issues.

Sacks seemed well balanced but again hard to tell after 1 game

CPU scrambling was incredible in that 1 game.

Being a franchise only guy I didn;t like being forced to create an avatar immediately before even getting to a menu. I basically skipped past this and accepted all defaults. Hope I can change it later!

While it looks a lot like Madden 20 I will say it feels surprisingly different to actually play. Everything seemed more refined and I just felt a little more in control of the actual players. Also....my biggest comment is how it seems that receivers are running faster or making snappier cuts? I play as the browns and when Beckham or Landy are running crossing patterns it strikes me that they are really sprinting where in last season game it seemed like a fast jog. This is just an initial impression after 1 game. Also...I was disappointed that Kevin Stefanski face is not on the 3d model on the sidelines. They created a model that is moderately similar but was looking forward to something a little better.

Passing on the run and passing out a sack seemed to be a thing now. For CPU and for your controlled player. I am actually planning to stick with Madden 20 on PC because of the Mods so I was going into this hoping for minimal changes. And while they may be minimal they may also be just enough to make me now want to continue Madden 20 now. The jury is out on that.

Other than some subtle gameplay tweaks and such it seems like the same game to me.

Finally....what is all this talk of Next Gen version? I know what the PS5 and XBOX One Series X are....but are you guys really under the impression the versions for those systems are using a different build or engine? Because currently PC, Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4 and PS4 Pro are all essentially the same build with minor differences based on hardware. I expect that the next gen versions will just be the same game with slightly better graphics and performance. Is there a place where EA has said the next gen versions will actually be using a unique build with more features?

Forgot to mention CPU still calls timeout at 1:01 in the half if they have the ball and are trying to score. Will still 20-30 seconds prior to this making no sense. Thought this would get cleaned up but apparently not.

I'm unable to adjust the Formation Subs in franchise. It will kinda let you highlight the player, but won't let you sub him out for another player.

Kinda bummed as I like to set up custom Subs for different plays.

That happened in the BETA a few times. Thought it was just because it was a beta, similar to the arms being rainbow colored. Didnt bother making a note since the arm people kind of got laughed at saying it was just a beta

Game 2 much better

Kamara ran much better against me which was nice to see. 6 for 30 at the half

This game has been more fun so far. Like someone else said the running is more explosive actually to the point that acceleration feels a little unrealistic but I do like that it feels like the players are dangerous.
