They won't say edited names so this messes up custom draft classes or if you just wanted to change a dude's name. In Madden 20 they said; Herbert, Dobbins, Hubbard, Swift, among many others. In Madden 21, if you edit first or last name it's done. You get "he", position, or nothing.

Another half brained EA feature. They hyped up custom draft classes a few years ago but it was poorly implemented. Announcers won't say modified names and with the lack of face options you will see the same recurring faces throughout the draft. They could have just added the face editor in custom draft classes from the Yard/FOTF and copy NBA2k how you can select names the CPU can say. Kills immersion for me in franchise.

I feel like this is definitely some sort of mistake or bug, considering this was in last year. Maybe this is something to let Madden Direct or the devs know about??

You would think so but i wouldn't count on EA fixing it right away or this year. What you see is what you should expect with Madden. They've left so many things broken in the past.

QB rushing stats are broken also and a lot of the same glitches from last year...

I have the standard edition due to be here Friday. This is sad.

The gameplay is atrocious. Don’t listen to the EA hired scam artists.

Re: Rookie Names No Longer Part of Broadcast in Franchise

Update 9/22-
I thought maybe with all of the patches this fix was sneaked in but no such luck.
This morning I edited the name of a RB to last name Jones and nada. Then I changed just the first name of my rookie QB and Charle's and the other guy no longer said his last name "James".
What a shame. The expanded name database was one of the few Highlights of Franchise last year for me. It added a lot to the real rookie classes with the last names of Bo Nix, Trevor Lawrence, Chubba Hubbard, and many others being spoken.

It totally kills the fun of #TANKFORTREVOR in Madden21
