Breaking tackles with a WR

I can't break any tackles with my wide receivers even though they have a high rating for trucking. Do I need to lower the slider for cpu tackling?

You'll get a much better response to this if you post it in the sliders forum. There are a couple of guys there that really know their stuff.

Yeah it sucks man as 9er fan I have kittle and deebo who are some of the best receivers at breaking tackles, and it just never happens in this game it seems

Hmm I wouldn’t be jumping to agree on deebo. Need more games to say that. Kittle is more obvious, and has many more highlight some of which embarrass the defense lmao (see game vs saints)

pretty sure there's a stat directly related to breaking tackles, trucking is only for increasing the success of a truck (which is very low to begin with)

I have both the break tackle and trucking ratings set to high for my WR.

Vs the CPU I always feel you have to start the trucking and stiff arm animations just slightly sooner than your normal response time. Going into the defender with a truck/stiff arm right as the tackler approaches is a lot less effective compared to if they are half way into the truck animation or if the stiff arm is already full extended upon contact.

I've felt this way for all the moves this year. I think it's a timing thing. If you have played Madden forever you have are probably used to pressing the sticks when the defense is a certain distance from you. This year it seems to be slightly earlier is the sweet spot. Maybe it's just me but that's how I've felt playing this year
