Play Action

I was curious to know if the play action this year is proven to actually work. I know there has been debates if the PAC rating for QBs actually work or not... does anybody have an idea/sample size? I’d like to make a RPO/PA deep shot type of playbook but I’m just curious if that is even worth it

I haven't had any issues with PA. I haven't taken a single insta-sack, nor have I gotten one even against the AI.

Seconded....the M20 phenomenon where insta-sacks made PA a very poor idea (at least) seems to either have been corrected or seriously toned down.

Whether and to what degree CPU defenders react to the play fake, and to what degree the PAC rating affects that, is as arguable and subjective as it has always been, but you can undisputedly call PA, execute the fake, and get a pass off without dying.

I've seen linebackers and safeties hesitate a moment when calling playaction. I've also seen running backs get blown up on the fake handoff. I don't think I've ever seen a player get completely fooled though in coverage.

From an animation stand point, play action passes look nice, especially the boots-- though I think blocking is 'suspect' on those plays.

It would be nice if EA could actually program it so that every now and then, the defenders get sucked in on a playaction pass. From that standpoint, playaction is rather pointless.
