Beyond graphical and performance I'm not expecting much except being able to carry my franchise saves over. More hope than expectation.

Nothing of any substance (other than legendary coaches and playbooks and retired players coming back into the league which was cool stuff) was removed going from PS3 to PS4.

Re: Madden 21 - Next-Gen - What To Expect

As for this year, I'm hoping for dynamic weather at least. Also improved sidelines. It will be nice to see snow deform when players are tackled instead of just footprints. We'll probably get ray-traced reflections, shadows, and maybe global illumination just to make use of the new buzz word of this upcoming generation.

I would think these things are possible this year. Next year I'd expect more.

Starting to wonder if EA is getting caught with their pants down a bit w next gen. If it ends up being a port with only improved lighting, models, and weather but no franchise improvements, they could be looking at another pr issue like the #fixmaddenfranchise #nfldropea caused. Going to be really interesting if they try to skate by w a port on PS5 and Series X

I thought that was already the case lol. The whole timeline suggests that they didn't have any orignal plans for Franchise this year in general. I don't see them setting that plan for Current gen with the notion that next gen Frnachise being a different experience. The first Franchise update is slated for mid November, so that should come in time for next gen launch.

Besides In-Game experience, I don't expect modes to be different than current gen. But if they can get the on field experience in the right direction, that's a start

Thats was how it was with madden 25 a direct port in time for launch day. We didn’t see a tru graphical leap until madden 15.
