HB Coverage check

Been experimenting with man defense and I have a problem and I wonder if you guys can help. Wen man align, the game aligns the furthest LB away from the RB which forces him to run all the way across the field. Is there a check built in to where the linebacker on the side of the release picks him up? Like real Cover 1 rules for LBs?

There is a funnel check in Cover 1 as long as you aren’t manually usering the players involved with the logic — I don’t know the extent of the logic across ALL C1 variants though.

I tend to play deep safety so that my defenders can take advantage of this; however, I have found that I many cases the #2 can get a ton of leverage on an deep out breaking route.

I'm pretty sure you only get the funnel check out of Cover 1 Robber.

Funnel and Banjo are checks built into Cover 1 Robber. They do things like ensure that a LB won't have to chase a HB all the way across a formation in man coverage.
