Let Us Play Any Game in Franchise Mode
Why can't we play any game and even switch teams mid game in Madden's franchise mode like we can in MLB the Show or NBA2K?

It becomes a pain to go into each coach and have to super sim that way.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

I agree about the switching teams but we can play any game right now.

Re: Let Us Play Any Game in Franchise Mode
They need to scrap the career/character mode garbage imo. Give us a commissioner mode like 2k MyLeague and the game will automatically have much more replay value. Idk why every single EA Sports title is permanently fixated on single player experiences that lack the customization and flexibility to truly make the mode/experience your own. A single GM, a single player, lack of custom tournament options in both Madden and NHL make the games very stale and don't provide the user the ability to enjoy the game in many different ways.
Shouldn't take 30-40 minutes to create a 32-team franchise control mode, and I shouldn't need 2 controllers to play as both of my user controlled teams in a franchise mode. It's nothing short of stupid.Comment

Re: Let Us Play Any Game in Franchise Mode
Definitely need this back. I shouldn't have to become the owner of a franchise to play their game. There are certain match ups during a season I wouldn't mind playing without controlling that entire franchise. This is one of the dumbest changes EA ever put in the game.Check out my updated 2017 blog on building a high school football video game:

Re: Let Us Play Any Game in Franchise Mode
I know you can technically play any game, but in creating a character for each team the league doesn't operate independently of you.
It's convoluted and it doesn't need to be. There is a pretty clear blueprint out there they could look at and follow.

Re: Let Us Play Any Game in Franchise Mode
EA knows what’s best for the football community ..less options ..no options -taking things out of games that were great and giving us..? Well you know. EA knows best. Remember as they say ..
“EA it’s in the Game” and if it’s not it used to be but we took it out.Last edited by tuckermaine; 10-06-2020, 12:46 PM.Comment

Re: Let Us Play Any Game in Franchise Mode
I feel like if they are serious about some quality of life improvements for franchise mode, this would be an easy win.
It doesn't get as much pub, but I know there are people out there that like playing any game they want, but maybe only want to play as both offenses only. Or defense.
Don't know what I can do to keep beating this drum without spamming but it's such a tease that it's annoying. The prompt is right there in game during franchise mode games and they simply have it disabled for that mode specifically. Which makes no sense given how much control they actually do give you throughout the mode.

Yes, this is a must have and shouldn’t be too difficult to implement. Throw us a bone EA.

I'll take an uneducated guess and assume it's probably easier than some of the other things they've gotten asked for.

Mostly UI, it’s easy. Probably some data considerations. Can already do cpu vs cpu via slow super sim. Just need UI to launch the game. Likely less than 1 day effort for 1 dev.

Re: Let Us Play Any Game in Franchise Mode
I dont really roam in these forums often.
Can anyone confirm if this has at least been brought to the devs attention? I'm sure the number one priority for why it hasn't been done is there aren't a lot of people asking for it in the grand scheme of things.
But if one Gamechanger made an impassioned plea on behalf of a vocal minority, and it really did end up being a simple fix, that would be one of the happiest days of my Madden life to see that news in a patch notes.

Asking for a mode you'd enjoy is one thing...that's perfectly reasonable.
Immediately assuming that creating a different mode is a stupid mistake because nobody could possibly enjoy it if you don't is....myopic. And mighty entitled.Comment
