Of course its 2020 in real life, but the Lions won the 2024 super bowl (my user controlled online CFM team).
Finished the season with an upset win to finish 8-8, get the last playoff position due to some help too. Just before the last game, a player on my team said let's win this for Thomas. He's retiring and we want to send him out on a high note. D morale gets a 20 point boost.
Suddenly, my D takes it to the next level, each win accompanied by another win for Thomas story. Then, after all, the Lions win and Thomas thanks the owner for giving him one last shot and a super bowl.
As odd as this game (Madden) is at times, I have to say this really made the Cinderella story even bigger thinking a team was inspired to win for a veteran in his final year.
Almost a tear in my eye because the Lions won, and Thomas rode off into the sunset a champion.
