DB Man/Zone coverage

What is more important? Man/Zone coverage or play recognition? You could have a guy who can cover well but if he can’t recognize the play, he’s already beaten!!!

Re: DB Man/Zone coverage

I don't know how play recog plays in but zone is how quickly the react and break on the ball. High zone players get that jumping the route try animation more often. Man is how close they are to the receiver when they are shadowing their route. So man does you no good if you run a lot of cloud coverages.

I personally go for very fast, high man coverage comers and safeties/linebackers with high zone.

Re: DB Man/Zone coverage

Any pattern match D such as match or fire zone blitzes utilize zone coverage in combination with play recognition.
