So what are some tangible things we can do to help correct this in our ongoing franchises? With 32 team control we can set depth charts to make rookies/young guys start. We can also edit existing players down or rookies draft classes up? Any other ideas? Thanks again.
The reason you don’t want to edit Draft players upward to be around EA’s Front End is that the Abilities which are used for greater Player Differentiation, become less affective and now you will have to edit all Draft/FA’s for the other Franchise mechanisms to mesh together.

There really only a couple things you can do on this topic.

1) Edit EA’s Front End roster positional ratings to be in-line with generated Draft levels (not just OVR’s but positional wise). ***very time consuming

2) Edit Draft players up to Front End levels *** issue noted above

3) Scrub out Front End Rosters completely, start Franchise with generated players only. ***XP Sliders will impact how much increase is applied to these players

4) Scrub out Front End completely with “0” XP Sliders across the board
- play with what you have
- game difficulty ramped up because positional ratings are lower
- Bad Draft picks hit very hard w/no plug-n-play in FA
- Because of Team Cap, some Practice Squad players end up having to be active/playing in some circumstances

Still trying to figure out EA's obsession with the name "Micah".

I'm happy to share the data with you here. Actually, they were created for something else, but you can pull a lot of information from the tests.
It's hard to do anything about that in an ongoing franchise. As khaliib says, it would be a huge effort to adjust the draft classes every time. In a 32 user franchise the problem is not as big, because you can use the rookies yourself. But the problem with the difference in the OVR remains.
A team with many good draft picks will be worse in the EA roster than in one like TFG.
Imo it is the best and easiest to start with a roster with lower OVR.Doing it yourself is of course a lot of work, but there are several people who have already done the work

Someone on the team's favourite RDR2 character?

Re: auto generated draft is terrible

Honestly the problem is regression of existing players. Some players have 2 good years then fall off the map. One thing I’ve thought of is that they could have the potential as a low floor/high ceiling players and high floor low ceiling players. That would make the drafts seem better. If you think the first round should all be hidden decals then you basically want the game to spam all of the elite players to you. Your scouting tells you how good they are coming out of college not what their potential is. In reality you can turn around a team faster with a 75 normal dev than a 65 hidden dev qb. That potential superstar might not develop (rg3) but the solid producer has a better career but his potential ceiling isn’t what the other qb has(kirk cousins). It would create a literal boom or bust scenario.

You are imo right, madden lacks a system, which can make players worse. On PC we have a mod that changes the morality system, it gets more influence, and players with poor performance lose OVR, are more likely to be replaced by the CPU / it's more worthwhile as a user to swap players.
But here again the too strong EA roster is a problem.
Even if you had a better system for it on the console, the distance of the players from the roster to the players from the draft classes is greater and it would take longer / fewer players would be replaced. That's a pretty simple mathematical-logical system.

Hidden dev QBs can even be developed into something special by the CPU.
I have seen this only once in over 35 simulated seasons, but in very rare cases you can get something like this with auto gen draft

Idk if the Pats won the superbowl 3 times with him or how else they did it (no stats for that in a football game... ) but I find that really impressive.
With TFG something like that is even better, because you don't have 8+ 99ers in the starting roster and they really are the absolute elite.

I know it's sacrilege but if you just shut injuries off the AI's development problems go away almost completely.

Good find if true. Basically means the issue is that the AI can’t manage injuries opposed to them not being able to build a team. Guys in another thread were just saying how the Bengals and Cowboys drafted new QBs in year two but both Burrow and Dax were on IR. Explains it perfectly, AI can’t handle injuries.
