Zones have been terrible for years. I think they REALLY need to make CPU DL’men get in a lot quicker. A QB shouldn’t have 5 seconds every play to get the ball off. Improving coverage and pass rush would go a long way.

Next gen pass coverage
Is wretched, it’s horrible. EA really need to actually fix this instead of the PS2 era code they are still using. It’s completely in enjoyable in H2H games when EVERYONE uses the Chiefs, and because the front 3 or 4 are useless T Hill just beats EVERY corner in the game even with safety help. There is no strategy to the game.

Re: Next gen pass coverage
Lol you are correct.... And just to ad the coverage is FAR from broken I should stream a game if 100 was perfect the coverage is easily 80-90. You have to play to your strengths, audible out of bad calls depending on formations. There will be blown coverages.....like in real life. Anyways coverage is way better on next gen than current gen.Comment

Man defenders stopping mid route and letting receivers run by them, Cover 4 defenders chasing shallow routes across the field, flat defenders covering deep routes, hook zones standing behind people and not playing the ball....
No. Pass coverage is definitely broken. Just because it’s better than last gen doesn’t mean it’s good. Slightly better crap is still crap.Comment

Re: Next gen pass coverage
I seriously must have the "unicorn special edition" because I honestly see the things you wrote MAYBE 2 times a game and that's very acceptable. One other thing I do is I adjust the drop depths, to 5 yards 5 yards 10 yards.. I'm telling you maybe I need to stream a game and post it???!??!Man defenders stopping mid route and letting receivers run by them, Cover 4 defenders chasing shallow routes across the field, flat defenders covering deep routes, hook zones standing behind people and not playing the ball....

If pass coverage was so great, why would EA be working on fixing it? Oldenburg has already said a patch for pass coverage is coming out this month. Are they just fixing something that isn’t broken?Comment

Re: Next gen pass coverage
It's simple, someone who had knowledge could have stepped in after the OP and stated a title update is coming out in early January to "fix" zone coverage. Oh wait, no need to answer that, I already know the answer. lol
Boom, end of thread.
I'm waiting on how well the title update will "fix" zone coverage.Last edited by roadman; 01-01-2021, 01:39 PM.Comment

The issue with that to me is they also mentioned a zone overhaul around December of M20 and it never came. Also the fact that we’ve had very similar issues over the past few years leads me to believe whatever fix they have in mind will just be a band aid rather than an actual fix. That’s just my opinion tho.Comment

Even if it's a band-aid, for the people that own LG or NG Madden, it should be a improvement until it's fixed.
And let's hope early January is next Thursday.Comment

Re: Next gen pass coverage
Never said it was great...I just don't think it's THAT bad, it can always be better but it's far from a game breaker or something similar. That's all I'm sayingComment

@crypticjordan
Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Next gen pass coverage
You know what bothers me more than the coverage is the CPU QB throwing the ball away to frequently. In my opinion that needs to be patched. And that usually happens when you have good coverage. But the CPU QB does it to quickly
