If a player is injured, is does not account for them

Was Burrow and Dak injured and backup QB's in their place?

A team should be able to recognize that an injured player is still on the roster. If Mahomes is injured, the chiefs aren't going to draft a QB.

To add some context to this question:

Dak's situation is pretty unusual for a high-profile player if you pick Dallas as a user team. If you use the active roster to start a franchise he does not start off in the active depth chart even if you have pre-existing injuries turned off. You need to fix the depth chart manually or do an auto-reorder to put him in the starting spot. The CPU will not correct this for the Usered Cowboys if you don't, and Dalton will end up being the starter while Dak just sits off of the depth chart.

This is not an issue when the Cowboys are completely CPU owned - it will correct this before Dallas plays their first preseason game and order the depth chart correctly.

So basically, what might be happening is that if the Cowboys were usered in these draft tests, Dak may not have been playing or even in the depth chart, injured or not. That could certainly influence the draft decisions.

I think we can all agree on that. Until they fix it, it appears to be a bug where it doesn't take into account an injured player that's not on the depth chart.

FWIW, I tested the draft with what I posted above in mind and with pre-existing injuries off, and while Dallas did draft a QB in the '21 offseason it was in the 4th round (and it appears to be because they let Dalton go). Cincy didn't draft one at all. I wasn't usering either team, I was watching from team control of Miami (just picked them at random).

                I don't think it's a bug. It's probably just not in there.

It seems that the logic is working exactly as EA said it would. They probably just need to add another check for an injury.

Even if Dak was healthy, I like Trey Lance to the Cowboys. If he wants to, he can hit free agency after next season.

Yeah I had to take control of the Bengals because they kept drafting Zach Wilson 5th overall because Burrow was still on IR with the torn ACL.

Yeah Bengals drafted zac Wilson in the first year of my franchise because burrow was hurt. I made them trade him to denver for the DE from Miami who's name I dont remember. Really was hoping this was fixed.

If you turn pre existing injuries to OFF it will help the draft logic. I tested a couple of online cfm, with it on Bengals and Cowboys drafted QBs 1st round. With it off, neither drafted QBs 1st round and instead drafted players of actual need.

I wonder if turning injuries off completely during every offseason turning them back on before the preseason starts might be a good workaround for CPU teams drafting positions for which they already have a good player who finished the season on IR.

Good thought. But I don’t think that will clear any injuries that took place during your season. I think it would just mean no new injuries would take place until you turned it back on. Which no injuries would occur during the off-season.
