Stopping The Screen

Hey Everyone!

I have a big game coming up in my CFM league and the word is out on me haha

“RB Screen him to death”

I generally would commit corners to the flat to stop this, however even they get blocked out

A lot of other league members seem to “user” a LB and stop it that way, I know this is effective

But I am solid on the D line and can put a lot of pressure on opponents by usering my DE’s and I don’t want to lose that dynamic on defense


What defense and adjustments can I call to knock out the screen consistently with CPU players and not having to user my LB ?

Ushering the DL is the easiest way to stop screens, you just have to watch for the screen cue. Play one of the linemen on the hb side. The back will stop as he waits to allow the blockers to move. If you see that, break off and chase the back. If you are fast and savvy enough, you can even jump the route but it's a gamble.

Control the DE on the side the HB is lined up on, as soon as you see the screen get to the flat

I wonder if you blitz heavily. Even in real life, when you have a team that likes to blitz, the screen is pretty much a sure fire way to beat it.

There are times I play the AI and I bring a heavy blitz and he gets big yards off of the screen. I feel like I can't even get all that mad
