IMO it seems much more realistic.

The zip on the passes from the throw, QBs drops and throwing motion, pocket forming, ark on the air passes, ect

Why wouldn't EA steal these and make them their own?

Because you can't just "steal" the engine and there's absolutely zero chance 2k would allow EA to use their proprietary engine.

Well duh, lol

I meant stealing the concept. Like replicating it, not stealing a past gen engine from another company.

They've basically ignored all the love that engine gets and all the things it provides that theirs doesn't. I understand that EA is a major company that wants to make money, but why wouldn't they adopt they concepts?

Is this an early April Fool's thread?

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

2k8 passes the eye test much better than modern madden games based on animations. QB drop backs in madden look weightless. In 2k8 you can see momentum as the QB drops back especially in foot planting. Madden still has a weird thing with the top half and bottom half of players not really being apart of the same model. They move independently of each other instead of together like in real life.

Because EA's vision and 2k's vision are not in the same. Look at Live vs 2k. They clearly never had the same priorities.

EA's gameplay is what they want it to be. They don't strive for the type of gameplay 2k had because they don't want that.

Never was a huge fan of 2K's gameplay tbh & never really thought it was better, just different. I'm sure EA thinks what they have is better. I would've loved to see how it would of evolved thru the years. If anything EA should of obtained Backbreakers physics engine. No sports game around can touch it still to this day. Same tired core engine just with fancy names we get today.

Yeah, never was a fan of 2K's button-mashing sprint mechanic. It's not fair to compare a 14-year-old game to what is being offered on PS5 or Series X but since it is being compared, I pretty much guarantee I can hook my 360 back up and put in All Pro 2K8 and be like "Holy crap, I can't play this; it's garbage."

But to each their own.
