I think MS and EA thinks this issue is only on the series x and s but I have an Xbox one X and had the fading trial as well. I hope by Monday I can go back and play before I get the game on the 17th.

Not sure if this has been said, but make sure you close the game completely, for PS at least, if you just switch to a different game or put your console to sleep, the counter keeps going. You have to hit options on the game icon and hit close game.
