That's pretty weak then. Like i said might as well call it an impression and not a review.

Yeah, I'm not big on the no score policy some sites have taken. The impression article was decent, but I think he needs to give a score as well.
Really planting that flag for something that hasn't been a thing in, hmmmmm maybe 7 years here? So, uh, yeah, move on since the policy is not new.

They stopped posting review scores because they didn't want to be part of the "IGN 8/10, 9/10" memes that get posted regarding the lack of integrity of games journalism. Also, by not giving a score, it forces you to read the damn article.
Many sites have taken that approach. Some even have rolling reviews, where the review can be updated with new info in the case of a patch, added content, or some other development for the game.
I read the article and can form an idea from what they wrote if I want to give the game a shot or not. And a score at the end is still an impression or opinion. And it is really just a a skip to the end to see if this is good or not option for readers.

Scores can be ridiculous at times, too. The average person thinks 6/10 is bad, 7/10 is okay. Much like Madden ratings, half the scale isn't even used.
What's the point of rating games if 90% of them are going to be an 8/10 or better? It just decreases the value of a score the more reviews that occur and continue to inflate the scores the way they do.
If we saw systematic changes occur where 5/10 simply meant average and not a trash game then review scores might be worth something again, but that likely will not happen anytime soon.

I personally don’t care if there is a score or not but what I care about is a member of OS(ChaseB) coming across as quite snippy and condescending. Friendly reminder that this site would not exist without us , the readers/members.
