Coach Mode - still control a player ??

OK - another "what am I missing" question. I have Coach mode set in the main menu but it seems when I get into a game the green arrow is still over a player and I can move him around.

OK of it's a lineman but a CB is a little embarrassing LOL

Yeah unfortunately on defense you have to move to a lineman or the player will not move Madden doesn’t have true coach mode like NCAA 14 had its auto pass meaning don’t touch the controller and the Qb will throw on his own but if ya touch the controller then you have to control the player on d you gotta pick a lineman or they won’t move Unless you play on Pro or lower.It Kinda sucks but it’s better then playing Head Coach which is too old for my taste thoughI loved it at the time.

Sure takes away from those that enjoy playing in the coordinator/HC role. As much that is involved in franchise, a true coach mode would be a delight; preparation and in-game management...let the players do their job.

I am still a little miffed, if you control a dlineman, you still have to control him or he stands there like a teddy bear, correct?

Sure takes away from those that enjoy playing in the coordinator/HC role. As much that is involved in franchise, a true coach mode would be a delight; preparation and in-game management...let the players do their job.

I would love true coach mode!!No the dline man will move on there own nobody else on D will if you are them.On pro or lower the d will move on there own

It's SUPER SIM on SLOW isn't it - woke up at 4:00 and realize that was the missing piece - worked great for me last year - the only real bad thing is kicking

Actually the D-line WILL move on their own UNLESS you move them on your own.

This is what I do. I'm not looking to call the plays, it's just fun to watch my team go H2H with the CPU sometimes. I'll back out and do fast supersim for kicks and you can press A (Xbox) to skip post-play interactions and replays.

On Defense, hold the L1 button down and the computer will control him. Learned this last week. It works great and there's your coach mode.

Really! - hmmmm - I found just don't touch the guy on the line he will pass rush. Once you move him he is all yours LOL I'll try the L1

NOW - if I could only kick a field goal. I'm ALWAYS to the right. Seems the FG thing goes slower or something.

Does the L1 work on kicking!

Your defensive player will move if you hold L1, but he won't stick to his assignment for that play. He just mans up on the closest opposing player. So if his assignment is a zone, he basically leaves a big hole in your defense.

Your defensive player will move if you hold L1, but he won't stick to his assignment for that play. He just mans up on the closest opposing player. So if his assignment is a zone, he basically leaves a big hole in your defense.

And you're so correct. You control a safety, hold L1 and he looks like one of those vibrations football players; he runs and spins and basically does nothing. Coach Mode is not coach mode, it's auto-QB.

Heck I wish I could get CPU v CPU in a franchise - can't seem to do it with all the teams - I get FORCE WIN and FORCE LOSE - WTF is that LOL

Anyway to watch all games CPU v CPU? I can't find the answer so far

Once you get into a game, choose super Sim and the change speed to slow. Then Sim to end of game. This will give you cpu vs cpu
