If a young players moves to second on the depth chart over the 29 year old veteran it makes a difference in their potential long term. Madden is awful at washing out non starting veterans. In reality tons of veterans find themselves without contracts each year to make room for drafted and undrafted young players. Madden won't get rid of an older higher overall player to make room for a little lower rookie.
Love to hear it. I'm going to try these tomorrow. I'll post any findings.

Look forward to hearing what you see. More eyes are always better as we all have a tendency to see what we want to see.

It sounds a popular idea and I don't think anyone is doing training camp style combo xp sliders in the slider section. Well worth putting a thread up!

Main thing is to work out what gives you base roster equivalent OVR distribution over 5yrs and 10yrs specific to your dev caps (it's how I work out the SMLE stats factored by our 50 injury slider so +10 to most XP sliders). I use gamerhuddle for my data exports and you have to copy-paste the rosters into a spreadsheet for base roster and then rosters at your intervals (I used 5yr and 10yr). I don't check any player distribution below 65ovr.

My guess is if you're at +150% for 3 weeks in preseason (no strategy in cut weeks) and then at -30% for 17 weeks so you're likely roughly operating at 105% XP sliders plus playoff extras (300%*3+70%*17 / 20weeks = 104.5). That little bit extra +4.5 on the average over 100 likely helps due to the fact your probowl and award season will have reduced XP at 70 etc.

If you wanted to dampen QB and OL then reducing them to 30 during reg season after the +150% training camp would likely help (and achieve and average of 70 over the season like SMLE). See attached.

Similar chart but with the XP slider trying to be outcome focussed and the positional XP sliders set for an outcome similar to SMLE:

One thing to add is make sure you change the xp sliders before you get into the season since the CPU trains when you sim to the first preseason week. There was a slider maker for 21 that I used that recommended doing the same. If you wait until the 1st week of preseason and then change it users will gets the extra boosts but CPU teams won't.

Good advice! Best to change to 300 before the draft and change down to lower sliders in ps4 cut week before advance to week 1.

I'm thinking maybe they should implement Potential caps like in 2K. Or make it to where you have to win, in addition to the required stats to get the dev upgrade.

Most user leagues are similar. Unfortunately, that's just part of playing video games.

Same with exploiting CPU for trades. MY 12 team All-Madden league created a rule to stop the exploiting. You can only trade for players on the block, and in order to trade your own players you have to put them on the block and accept what the CPU offers. This essentially terminated all CPU trade exploits.

Although I knew most of this stuff from years playing Madden this is a very good thread. Didn't know about the coach exploit so I'll be on the lookout and I did appreciate the slowest coach progression suggestion.

Is there training preseason week 4. I seem to remember no training that week. Could be wrong. I actually change it after training in week one of regular season because it is still training camp until the first game is played. I set depth charts after training week one before the first game. If I understand what you are saying I should not change the xp until week two before training to be fair to the cpu.
