Swami said in the podcasts this summer that the Coach Talent Tree would include items for Scouting when the update came. Surprise, surprise it's not in there.

They also removed the ability to see the projected draft order when looking at prospects, or choosing focus players/visits/etc.


And if you back out of picking your focus players or private workouts to see your draft slot you lose the ability to pick focus players... It's pretty dumb.

6.) Private workouts should have consisted of drills for a prospect you want to work out. They could have used the team practice facility field in the game and assets from FOTF drills and linked them together.

Example: If you get a high score you unlock all the traits. A low score unlocks nothing.

Pretty similar to the PS2 Madden Mini-Camp drills and Individual prospect scouting.

Also a quick way to sort combine stats or bring back the combine score on the prospect screen.

In all honesty, all they did was change the look of last year's, and took away the ability to choice the players you want to scout. What really pisses me off is the logic of the scouting and mock draft. I changed a HB that's was original rated in the day 3 group. I made him 82 over best player on the draft ratings wise. I simulated through the season after setting my focus area on hb from his region and a focus player. Got to the draft he was only 85% scouted but still mocked in day 3. I thought it was the same logic as last year where the CPU doesn't actually scout players it's all based on where they are positioned in the scouting screens. So I moved him to the a projected 24th pick. Simmed the first round didn't get picked.

Sorry it's a lot. But it makes me mad cuz they didn't actually fix the issue. The whole gem/bust logic is based on starting ratings maybe I can find a gem rated high 70's in the 5th round. But that's not how it should work. My hb was the fastest in the draft that alone should move him up, but add the fact that after scouting his abilities he should also move up. And at the very least you reach on a player maybe a rd early not, but the projection logic is broken.

I don't mind any of this missing, but having a few more Focus Scouts for players and not seeing WR catch ratings or LB tackle ratings at 80% scouted is pretty inexcusable and illogical if this is supposed to be a simulation.


I'm guessing we're supposed to rely more on physical traits and news stories?? I'll need to test it out more I guess.

This just happened to me and I'm glad I tested this first because if this happened in my online franchise I'd be throwing the console out of the window lol

A lot of the problems would be solved if more information was available in one place and it was easier/quicker to go from player to player rather than repeatedly going back and forth through two or three different menu screens.

Well this thread sure is a buzzkill for those of us that waited to buy the game. Info is great, just that I said all along that EA would find a way after the delay to put out something bug riddled and not close to what they hyped!

It’s not bug riddled just missing a lot of quality of life things. I will say I appreciate the effort but the scouting is even more boring than it was before, sure it’s harder and more realistic but it’s still just boring. It makes zero sense to have guys scouted to 80% and not have position specific ratings unlocked.
