Play calling- Tendencies

I am not a novice to the understanding of football, but Madden fails to offer the tools for one to play and call a game like a real coach would be able to.

When calling an offensive play, unless you're charting the game manually, there is no provided feedback of the defense's tendencies that can assist you in calling an appropriate play for the situation.

So in a way, Madden's vast playbooks is a dream, but for the player like me that plays only when I have time, a little help would add another element to the chess match of calling plays.

What are some practices out there that are used to address this?

We can thank the comp crowd for getting that feature removed. They didn't want their opponents to know how they were cheesing the game, and poof, it's gone.

In franchise weekly strategy/training(can't remember what they call it) they break down your opponents tendencies. 1st down, 2nd Long, 3rd Long, 3rd Short %s. Both offense and defense. I actually find this feature extremely useful.

Are these for real what cpu tend to call IN GAME or just some gimmick that has nothing to do from what the CPU AI does in game?

It's a gimmick, I cannot tell you how many times I've gone to choose a defensive focus and it'll say the starting QB has a 0.0 rating in all 3 levels of passing when they've played all year and it's not 1921 football
