Rookie name editing: Does it still remove audio?

Simply question. In Madden 21, editing a rookie's name (or any player) removed audio for their name — even if the name was in the game. Is that still the way it works? If I edit a guy to Jones, is he damned to forever be "the Quarterback?"

Heard it's still broken. Was fixed a few years ago. They overlook any customization capabilities. Should just have a commentary name database that shows when selecting a name (like NBA2k...)

There is one under the hood, if Madden 21 PC with the Franchise Editor is any indication. But I never tried switching presentation IDs on that version of the game, since the next gen was coming out.

They fixed this in madden 19 when the launched custom draft classes but some reason took it away in 21/22. I just don’t get it. It was bad enough they don’t even say defensive players names not this. Kills immersion. Sad part is madden 2001 had this but 20 years later they can’t get it right.

Sad and amazing this could be an issue in 2021. EA just doesn't care to fix it or intentionally did it. Just another thing that kills immersion.
