This game has lived on with his name since retirement and will likely be able to continue to. Although I don't play it, his legacy will live on among future generations who will know who he is because of the title alone.

If we chose “Ask Madden” in this situation, he’d want us to remember how important the game of football is to bringing all people together, through playing, coaching, broadcasting, and gaming…all things Coach Madden cared about.
An icon in the history of football and sports gaming. Look at the original John Madden Football and now look at Madden 22. The sheer progress graphically and in the strategic representation of the game over 3 decades is astounding.
Madden's influence on sports, broadcasting, and culture is immeasurable, but on a more micro level - I owe thanks to John Madden for some small part of my current life in Los Angeles.
Had I never played (and subsequently become a bit of a super fan of) the ubiquitous football video game with his name on it, I would have never made the connections I made which afforded me the opportunity to move to Los Angeles in 2016 to start the life I have now.
His influence extends beyond the gridiron for so many people, of which I am one of them.
I've spent more hours listening to Madden than I have most people in my life either through nfl broadcasts or playing his game. It's a shame younger people only know his name from the less than stellar games that have come out recently.
Without him and his game there would be way fewer football fans all over the world. RIP.
I'm in shock. He was my childhood. Still remember reading the story where EA met with John on a train(I think) about making a football video game. Think they said it was 5 on 5 or 7 on 7 and John said nope if it's not 11 on 11 it's not real football and won't put my name on it. So EA went back to the drawing board and years later Madden video game was born.
He coached in the first Super Bowl I ever watched as a kid, Super Bowl XI between the Raiders and the Vikings. So I was aware of who he was basically my entire life. Obviously that game really started him on his rise to becoming beyond iconic, with that win ironically possibly being the lease of his accomplishments career wise.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
