Exactly, that screams arcade.

This is not God of War, it's football.

The Tackle Battle is a step back though.

Tackle battle mini game, not so much.

I hope the passing game and tackling game are as advertised vs how the game is delivered.

I actually enjoyed the Vision Cone because the actual QB ratings still mattered.

I'm skeptical about this new system because it doesn't mention anything about the QB ratings playing a part.

If it's just user skill that would defeat the purpose of playing with a guy like Hurts

I'm not looking to turn him into the elite passer

Passing dominates the sport of football more and more with each new season. The fire-and-forget nature of icon passing is a holdover from the original Sega Genesis days of football gaming and it is long past time we try to move on from it.

I welcome the introduction of more user agency in passing with open arms. At the end of the day, Madden is a video game; none of us are putting on pads to play it, and we would all be well served to check our rough-and-tumble egos about the importance of the sport at the door.

Re: Some New Info For Madden 23

Hopefully everything implemented for gameplay this cycle isn't just about H2H play. They let the cat out of the bag last year about something like 75-80 percent of games being played against the CPU, so it would be unfortunate if the lion's share of gameplay work was about User play IMO.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Some New Info For Madden 23

Been waiting for the nfl fever reticle passing for so long, I’m loved this vision cone and I’m fine with this being the closest we ever get to it again. But for this to work they have to fix the line play and the pocket.

I don’t hate tackle battle as it seems more like the button mash type from 2k and not the hit the random button first mini game it was in previous maddens. If it brings more variety to the game in terms of strips, gang tackles and big hits I’m all for it, especially bc the offense will be forced to use cover ball or give up to avoid a big hit.

And any move away from animations towards physics is welcome in my book I just hope they can pull these things off to level where they function properly and actual make the game feel new.

Passing could be interesting, we’ll see. I HATED the tackle mini game battle that was in 17. EA has some good ideas but their execution always lacks.
