The best outcome would be if EA were bought by a company looking to get into the video game space. I don't think you'd see any appreciable difference in games for a few years though.

I'll believe it when I see it. If a company does buy EA I doubt they would change much about madden.

I would prefer Microsoft buy them.

Their pockets are deep, and something tells me they would venture away from having to turn billions in profit for Madden. They could afford to take their time, maybe even skip a year.

Yeah, pipe dream for sure, and maybe A LOT of wish full thinking.

EA isn't looking to sell. The headline is misleading. They were approached for a merger and considered the offer.

Very different than saying EA is "up for sale."

This. I believe one article said that EA was looking for a merger arrangement where EA's CEO still remains CEO of EA and potentially the other company they would merge into. I don't think much of anything would change.
