That could be it. Sim another week and see what happens. But if your players received skill points the whole league did. The tool is not made that way. It's all or nothing.

He doesn't suddenly become a better or worse player because of them - it was his abilities, circumstance, and luck that put those stats into the realm of possibility. You have underachievers and overachievers all the time - that is simply life/reality. I am definitely not in favor of any performance based progression/regression.

If you decide though, to go this route eventually, please allow it to be OPTIONAL.
.................

And thank you for making this great utility! It does away with the idiotic XP system Madden now has, and I am very grateful for that!
These are my thoughts on progression by performance:

So my view point on that is awards and milestones don't make a player better. A player got better before he accomplished that. So if player A is a 73 ovr HB year one he might not play and doesn't do much. Year two he's progressed to 78 Ovr. Little more playing time but still doesn't do much. Year 3 he progressed to 87 Ovr. Boom. Starter and now he could have that breakout year and win awards or set milestones. That how it should work and that's the only way to get it to work in Madden. I'm really trying to steer away from performance based progression because then we might as well have stayed with XP Sliders.

At the absolute most this is my view on awards and pro bowls:

Right now to make awards or pro bowls mean something I'm thinking we could have it affect the morale rating of a player. For example if player A wins MVP he goes into next season with a 99 morale rating which would give him a +2 to his Ovr but it wouldn't be permanent. Depending on how he played it could stay all year or he could lose it. Something like that.

So don't worry. I have no intention of doing that nonsense. If I wanted performance to dictate progression I'd have stuck with XP.

For what it's worth, I'm in season 3 and it seems that CPU players have hardly progressed compared to my guys (who have progressed very sim-like). What is the recommended setting for CPU progression?

The tool doesn't differentiate between cpu and human controlled teams. So what you are describing is impossible. I have no idea what is going on with your franchise. Between me and the two guys who help beta test this tool we had probably close to 100 simmed seasons. Never have we seen any difference between cpu and human teams. All I can say is make sure you have it set to progress weekly.

Re: TDawg3782's Madden 20 CFM Progression Tool

When running the macro, I keep getting an error message:

Run-time error '1004':

PasteSpecial method of Range class failed

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

What version of excel are you running? This usually happens when not running the most current version. Also make sure to close the file you extracted from the franchise editor before running my tool. It opens automatically when you extract. It shouldn't be an issue but better safe then sorry. I don't think I specified that in the readme. If still having issues jump on the discord (link in OP). It's much easier to troubleshoot from there.

You liked his previous message so I'm guessing you've got this figured out but just in case anyone else sees this I can personally confirm that using an older version of excel will give you this error. I upgraded mine (to 2016 or something) and it fixed it.

As for the tool itself I can full heartily recommend using the tool. It has made a tremendous difference in my enjoy of franchise mode. And the fact that this is just v1 of the tool makes it even more exciting.

But maybe I'm just saying this because in my first real test of it I saw Sam Darnold get to a 91 overall and it made me happy.
