Can you change jersey numbers during franchise?

I downloaded a draftclass from Psxsports.com... drafted a kicker and his number is #35.. not that big of a deal, just not realistic.. I tried to find a way to edit it but I cannot.. only played 1 preseason game in my second year.. anyone know how to change the #?

Yeah, you can edit any player in the league's jersey number, whether you control their team or not.

This is probably the most anal thing I do with my Madden each year. Whenever the draft ends, free agency ends, and the next season's roster is set in my franchise, I'll go through and edit the unrealistic jersey #'s.

I'll even go a step further, though. if a kicker is #35 like you say, I'll try to get the jersey to be either #3 or #5 or something related to their college jersey number....

what about in Superstar mode...because I was playing against SD and LT of course had #21 but his backup running back that was a rookie had the same #...

what was also weird was that he had the visor too but it was clear & not dark... but other then that there was nthing else they had the same..

View rosters, select the player and scroll down to Edit player.

I definately do the same thing in EVERY sports game, especially baseball. I get so ticked when some new FA is wearing a retired number for a certain team. Last year in 2K4, the Yanks picked up Pokey Reese a few years down the line and was wearing #3, the Babe's number. I wasn't havin' that, ehehe.
