No u have 2 do it from "view rosters" then click on the player/T.Shmoe.
When u see the "edit player" u can change anything except the attributes.

Ok a little confused here...

Does the franchise file contain the current rosters after the draft with all the draft picks on them?

Or does it contain all the trades/signings but no draft picks...and then you have to go through a draft with the first draft class?

Is this Madden roster for the PC version. I could not get Madden 06 to recognise the roster file, or am I doing something wrong?

I placed the file in my Madden06 Roster folder on my PC. Fired up the game and I did not see the Roster file in the game.

p.s. I got Strutdaddy's Roster file to work in Madden 06. Who needs Madden 07 when you can get Roster updates.

Use the franchise file.The draft classes are for future drafts in your franchise.
