Finn is on the IR and will not likley play for the Giants again.

Our FB is an undrafted rookie, I personally wouldn't mind seeing Droughns in the backfield as a FB since he was originally a FB and seeing him and Jacobs in the same backfield could be insane.

Update: August 20, 2007

Michael Jennings will be placed on the IR after suffering a torn Achilles Tendon during the pre-season game with the Ravens.

It appears that Ruben Droughns will not be the backup to Brandon Jacobs, but it will actually be Derrick Ward.

Giants waived injured WR Michael Jennings, DT Charrod Taylor, and OL Dan Parrish.

Giants claimed WR Will Buchanon off waivers from the Raiders.

Giants signed S J.R. Reed, formerly of the Falcons.

Giants signed C Nick Jones, formerly of the Seahawks.

Need to be Created:
30 J.R. Reed, S
3 Will Buchanon, WR
68 Nick Jones, C

Giants released rookie WR Marco Thomas.

Giants signed LB Karibi Dede.

Giants WR Michael Jennings cleared waivers and was added to Injured Reserve.

Giants waived HB Decori Birmingham.

Giants placed DT Marcus Bell on injured reserve, ending his season.

Giants released WR Will Buchanon and LB Karibi Dede.

Giants FB Robert Douglas will miss several weeks with a torn meniscus.
Douglas was expected to be New York's starter this season now, Reuben Droughns could now step into that role.

Giants placed LS Ryan Kuehl on injured reserve.

Jay Alford will now split long-snapping duties with rookie Zak DeOssie.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Reuben Droughns will play fullback on a consistent basis.
