Players retiring in franchise

Has anyone figured out how to keep players like TO and Dawkins from retiring in franchise?? I've tried the "change to K or P" trick but no luck. I've got a really good draft class (players for 1st/2nd round should be pretty accurate) but can't get TO to not retire.

Do you have the draft class by itself, or just in a franchise save after the pre-season?

I've never tried the K/P trick. But I'm wondering if it has anything to do with changing their position BEFORE starting a franchise or maybe even AFTER starting the franchise.

What I've always done is found out who would always retire, then make a created player to replace them with all the same info/ratings and such. But I'd make them a little younger with less years in the league. I'd then lower the ratings of the real players, cut them in to free agency. And it would be settled. The created player wouldn't have a picture, but oh well. They're all just computer animated characters anyway... hahaha

I have the draft class but it's saved under my profile not a dummy profile.

So how have you managed to get a draft class with the first and second rounds pretty accurate if the player's ratings change every time you load that draft class?

And what does your profile have to do with it being a dummy profile or not? You can still use it, if you have a transfer kit. It's simple, move your profile and all the files (draft classes) you want to a memory card. Transfer those files to your computer using the transfer kit. Move the profile back from your memory card to your xbox hard drive. Now you've got the profile accessible on your computer and on the xbox.
