Players on IR aren't showing on IR

I've been using the latest rosters to sim a new franchise, but I noticed something weird. I'm two seasons in, with Urlacher still on my Bear's team, though he never shows up in game. He's number one on the depth chart, but he absolutely will never make it into the game. It's as though he's perma-injured now in my franchise, even though he's healthy. What exactly do they change on these rosters to make the game's rosters identical to real life? Why is Urlacher not playing in future seasons? I want him to be on the IR for the first season, like he is in real life, but then I want him back on the field in 2010. It's like this with more than just Urlacher too. I've tried it with several other teams/players who are on the IR for the rest of the 2009 season.

Does this issue relate to the one of this thread? Perhaps there wasn't room on the IR for Urlacher, thus he's permanently disabled as an option to play, even though he's number one on the depth chart and not injured anymore.
