First off, I love the roster.

Secondly, although I haven't played multiple seasons, I am concerned with the fact that the Chargers are 12 million over the salary cap. This could lead to some odd behavior by the CPU and could cause instability issues down the road.

Regarding the Bolts salary cap issue (or any other team)

playing with the salary cap off is an option.

The salary cap situation should improve (right?) once players are cut heading into the season. My guess is the signing of a few vets such as Tommie Harris contributed to their salary cap problem.

Another option is to re-rate the roster... I plan on doing this (time permitting) once the regular season is over, but I'm not sure if that will improve the situation on each team unless the player is cut first then re-rated. For example, when I created Jeff Garcia for this update... his contract was going to be huge... so I gave him zero awareness when creating him in order to sign him for a vet minimum. Then I boosted his awareness on the roster file... his contract didn't change. From that I gathered that in order to change contract status... The guy can't be on a team... perhaps you can change his position in franchise mode and resign guys on the cheap to help salary cap situation.

right on the money, even with the custom roster if you have a player ie. Cam Newton 6yr contract make is very hard for me to signed FA, or high value draft picks... I have to work around it and release players like captain his on my Sh!t list , but I have to let them sit on FA then go back to find out i can get them for 310K lmfao... I mean WTF or the league mininal 640K on must veterans who are around lower than 80 ovr...
