They literally left the roster structure identical. Don't see how they could come back on this in any way

No, the portraits are stored on disk. You would be limited to the images stored on the disk.

Download link is and will always be on the first page.

Just to clear up any confusion, you will only get the green face/black skin issue if you attempt to edit RGIII or Luck. This does not occur if you load the roster and go straight to a game or a franchise. I may be able to solve this by just editing RGIII and Luck to a generic face and saving the roster. This would eliminate the problem for everyone.

What I mean is in Madden 13, can you hex edit Jaguars FB Greg Jones' portrait onto the game because he had a portrait last year and SS Aaron Francisco was missing from the game and ea added him back in a roster update and he had a portrait.
