Squint/TJ's All-Pro 360 Sliders

T.J. and I have been doing a lot of testing with these sliders and we're pretty satisfied with the way they've turned out. We've both had very realistic, competitive, and close games with a pretty good running game from the CPU and reduced CPU INTs.

We consider ourselves slightly above average players and play as close to sim style as possible.

Different sliders work for different types of players so we are guaranteeing anything other than that we've had very good results with them:

UPDATED 9/9/07

Here's the final version I'll be using for my franchise now that EA has released their 53 man roster update. I tried to adjust the kicking game (specifically FGs and punting) to acheive more realistic results. I also slightly increased human pass blocking and the run game.

Difficulty: All Pro
Quarter Length: 10 Minute Quarters
Weapons: Choice

(Human/CPU)

Offense

QB Accuracy: 54/70
Pass Blocking: 56/54
WR Catching: 9/6
RB Ability: 45/58
Run Blocking: 46/59

Defense

Awareness: 15/70
Knockdowns: 79/68
Interceptions: 0/0
Break Block: 41/52
Tackling: 44/55

Special Teams

FG Power: 30/47
FG Accuracy: 9/32
Punt Power: 33/39
Punt Accuracy: 42/59
Kickoff Power: 13/16

Penalties

Offsides: 83
False Start: 83
Holding: 100
Facemask: 100
Offensive PI: 100
Defensive PI: 90
KR/PR Interference: 100
Clipping: 50
INT Grounding: 100
Roughing Passer: 100
Roughing Kicker: 100

Sub Out/In

QB: 68/85
HB :95/100
FB & TE: 88/95
WR: 95/100
OL: 70/85

DE: 85/94
DT: 85/94
LB: 85/94
CB: 83/92
S: 83/92

Thanks to aholbert for the auto sub-in/out percentages. I like what I've seen from these as the back up RB gets about 7-10 snaps per game for me.

I just tried TJ's and they were okay so I'm eager to see how the combo of you and him is.

Weapons on or off with these?

You tried mine? I didn't do any, lol. Must've been someone else.

I've never messed with the weapons setting, so do with it what you want. I really don't think it matters one way or another.

With these guys, it's important to note that you should choose your defense to match what the CPU's offense is using. Example:

2-WR set, you should go with a 4-3, 3-4, or 46 defense.
3-WR set, go with Nickel.
4-WR set, go Dime.
5-WR set, I'd use Quarters.

Of course, if the CPU is tearing you up on the ground, you may choose to just use a 4-3 or 3-4 until 3rd down, no matter the offensive set. I was forced to do this in a game against Washington because I just could not stop Clinton Portis with a Nickel or Dime defense, and they were running a lot out of those 3 and 4 WR sets.

Also keep in mind that no slider set is perfect. Of the 7 or so games I've played with these, with the exception of one game, the CPU has thrown no more than 2 INT's against me. Usually, it's 1 or 0. That one game was one against the Browns and Brady Quinn...and he threw 7. Yep, 7. I almost threw the sliders away after that game, but I'll just chalk it up to an anomaly. No other game played the way that one did. 6 out of 7 ain't bad, in my book.

Good luck!

I tried these last night, thanks guys. Keep us updated. The only thing killing me now are the fumbles. It is almost to the point where I might stop playing it.

Here's a little trick I started using, thanks to Nivek. If I see a CPU fumble that they were obviously screwed on, since I know they WON'T, I'll use one of my own challenges to challenge the play. It only seems fair.

9 min quarters?! I could never play that long! LOL I'd score in the hundreds.

With 8 minute quarters, we were averaging around 100 plays per game, which is just south of what they average in a real NFL game. With 9 minutes, it's just about right.

What do you do? Run no-huddle the whole game?

Haha, sorry...that was JT's I tried, not TJ.

I didn't get a chance to try these last night but will tonight. How has the fumble problem been with this set?
