Re: PS2 'Stat Accurate' Sliders

King V2k3 sorry i know this is not relevant at all to the thread but do you have any interesting in helping me to try and tackle this sim engine issue? I feel like it might be possible to get accurate sim stats if we had maybe 2-3 guys testing various sets, even if just for a couple hours. I figured id ask you cause you seem to be one of very few people who are consistantly posting regarding sliders and ways to make the stats more sim-like.

By the way where do I find the "passes defended" stat...I never knew there was one.
Makes sense, there a lot of drops in rain games...

The DFL (passes defended) stat which reflects some of the effects of the knockdown slider is located off the D Stat screen to the right...just keep going right and it's after catches allowed...

I use the d pad to scroll right...

Bulger 25-42, 331 Yds, 2 TD, 3 INT
Harrington 18-35, 381 Yds, 1 TD, 2 INT

Jackson 16 car, 48 Yds
Dunn 18 car, 54 yds
Norwood 11 car, 22 yds

Holt 7 rec, 115 yds
Bruce 6 rec, 67 yds
Horn 6 rec 93 yds
Crumpler 4 rec, 87 yds

Ram Pancakes 4 3 2 2 1
Falcons 8 5 5 2 2

Chavous 8 tack
Bartell 7 tack
Tinoisamoa 6 tack
Chillar 5 tack
0 Sacks for my team

Brooking 10 tack
Hall 5 tack
Houston 5 tack
Abraham 4 tack, 1 sack
Beck and Coleman each had a sack
3 Total sacks for Falcons

Wilkins was perfect on all kicks.
Cundiff was 1-2 on FGs, 2-3 on PATs, shanked one horribly

Overall I liked these sliders, but something should be done about the deep ball. I had the WR bracketed 3 times on 30+ yard passes, jumped to make a play on the ball and the WR came down with it with 2 or 3 defenders right on top of him. Neither RB seemed to get much going on the ground. I threw 3 INTs but all were deserved because of bad decision making.

These stats look really good, unfortunately nothing can be done about the deep ball...it's what I call a 'hard code' issue...

You're going to get screwed by the CPU 1-3 times per game, so the sliders are balanced to take that into effect...

All you can do is play with a team that has solid DBs and play Cover 3 if you suspect they're going long...

Also, the 'commit to the pass' (flip the R stick up within 2 seconds of the snap) helps...if you're wrong you'll get screwed by a QB taking off or a draw, but it beats the sure 6 of the loooong ball...

Hope this helps...

Pack(me) vs. Lions
Total Offense
290/484
Rush Yards
112/223
Pass Yards
178/261

B.Favre 18/30 178 Yards 60% 4 TDs 1 INT
B.Jackson 21 Carries 76 Yards
G.Jennings 6 Rec 66 Yards 1 TD
D.Driver 5 Rec 61 Yards 1 TD
B.Franks 3 Rec 23 Yards 1 TD
J.Jones 2 Rec 17 Yards 1 TD
Pancakes were 5 4 3 3 2 1
A.Kampman 5 Tackles 2 Sacks
N.Barnett 5 Tackles 1 INT
C.Woodson 5 Tackles 1 INT
M.Manuel 4 Tackles
F.Walker 1 Tackle 1 INT

J.Kitna 15/22 269 Yards 68.2% 1 TD 3 INTs
T.Bell 14 Carries 195 Yards 2 TDs (he broke a couple huge gains on me)
K.Jones 4 Carries 30 Yards 1 TD
C.Johnson 8 Rec 151 Yards 1 TD (once again I couldn't stop him...if he is this good in Madden I don't even want to think about real life)
S.McDonald 2 Rec 60 Yards
M.Furrey 2 Rec 16 Yards
Pancakes were 3 3 3 2 1 1
F.Bryant 6 Tackles
T.Lehman 6 Tackles 1 INT
E.Sims 5 Tackles
T.Fisher 4 Tackles
This is what happens when the RBA slider goes to 11, they 'see' the hole better and have the ability to break a lot more tackles...

I'm still not sure if I'm going with this boost in the long run...we'll see...

Solid stats tho...

Love to see those DFL stats tho...

Thanks for trying them!!!

I checked out your combo sliders based on Mr. Lahey's conversions and they might be challenging...but the pancakes will be out of wack for the CPU and your Human D stats will be off (esp. tackles for loss)...

You're going to end up with a lot of Pro Bowlers with jacked DAWR...

It seems like you can make the game 'Stat Accurate' or challenging for those with above average Madden skills...

It's impossible to do both IMO...

I have to have some 'house rules', no hit or highlight stick is a big one...

JimmyFly alluded to some of my stuff from last year...

I'll find it and post it on your thread...I'll be very surpirsed if they don't work the same again this year...

Everything else does...

yeah i figure its impossible to do both. but as for CPU getting too many pancakes i really couldnt care less because i only face them a max of 2 times/yr which probably wont have a massive impact, but probably still a big one. but youre right i probably will have too many TFL which will lead to extra pro bowlers. I might turn the Dawr down but for right now i like the way the game plays and havent started a franchise yet so im happy with them for the moment
