PS2/Xbox All-Pro Sliders and Franchise Rules

This is my first time posting any sliders, but since I'm getting some solid and realistic gameplay, I thought I'd share what I came up with. I'm probably an above average Madden player.

I also included my Franchise Rules. I'm the type of guy that shoots for realism beyond gameplay, so that includes free agency, the draft, etc. I'd really appreciate any feedback from anyone. Here's what I am playing with right now in the first year of my Cleveland Browns franchise:

All-Pro
12-min. quarters

Accelerated Clock ON
QB Vision OFF
Auto Strafe OFF

In-game injuries 103, sim injuries 97
Sub in 90, sub out 85

All penalties at 10 except Holding and Clipping, both at 9

Sliders (HUM/CPU):

QBA 10/12
PBK 3/3
WRC 10/12
RBA 10/12
RBK 7/9

AWR 10/15
KDN 4/8
INT 2/3
BBK 6/8
TKL 0/1

KPW 9/9
KAC 0/6
PPW 10/10
PAC 0/20
KOP 10/10

Franchise Rules:

1. Use the 2 controller method before each game to set the CPU sub in/out to 90/85, and turn the QB Vision OFF.

2. Let the CPU control the signing of free agents, order the depth chart, and Owner mode.

3. Use the training camp only for current rookies.

4. Make your top offensive, defensive, and special teams players the captains.

5. Re-sign 2-3 players who have expired contracts.

6. Control rounds 1-3 of the draft for your team and simulate rounds 4-7. I've thought about just simulating the whole thing. I don't want to take the time to manually draft for every team like some gamers do.

7. Max out the interest bar when signing both your own players and your draft picks.

That's it! This is what I do, and I'll try to post some team stats by maybe mid-season to show scores of games, team rankings, etc. If anyone tries these, I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

1. Make a second profile and set the auto sub-in/out at what you want it to be for the CPU team.

2. Save profile.

3. Start game and select your profile for your team and the 2nd for the CPU team.

4. When you go into the game move the CPU controller back to the middle.

This will get backups in the game for the CPU.

I just control the Browns. That's one of the reasons why I let the CPU control Owner mode, to try and make it a more even playing field away from the gridiron. To control all 32 is taking this game to a level I don't have the time to invest in.

Thanks, Hovita. I didn't create a second profile, though. I do the following:
  1. Move second controller to control CPU team at Controller Select screen. Make sure profile for CPU is set to "None".
  2. Default select Heads for visiting team at coin toss. Whoever wins the toss, default select to get the ball first.
  3. Before kickoff, press START on CPU controller. Adjust the CPU sub in/sub out % to 90/85, and turn the CPU QB Vision OFF.
  4. Go to the Controller screen and move the CPU controller back to the middle to give the CPU control of the team.
  5. Return to the game. You'll have to control the CPU kickoff, but after that you don't have to worry about it.
I know this sounds like a process, but it really makes a difference and moves quickly once you get the hang of it.

Re: PS2/Xbox All-Pro Sliders and Franchise Rules

I thought I'd share some scores of the last four games I played with these sliders before deciding to officially use them in my Browns franchise:

Browns 18, Steelers 17
Bengals 40, Browns 36
Browns 27, Raiders 6
Steelers 21, Browns 3

As you can see, these ranged anywhere from shootouts to blowouts to defensive battles. I've played many more games, but these are of most recent memory.

One thing I noticed in each of these games was the momentum sways. If I committed a turnover or a critical penalty, it was like either my team dwelled on it or my opponent was energized by it, or both. It really adds to the realism.

That 18-17 victory over Pittsburgh was like that. I kept committing dumb penalties for most of the game, never had a lead, and the Steelers were killing me in total yardage and time of possession. They couldn't put me away, though, and in the second half my offense started to slowly find a rhythm until *click* we started making things happen and moved the ball without costly penalties. I kicked the game-winning FG as time expired for the win.

I'm telling you, these sliders make the game feel as real as I can remember it ever feeling.

Re: PS2/Xbox All-Pro Sliders and Franchise Rules

You need one more rule for true realism...

Can't wear brown pants wth Cleveland since they don't even exist

Why so many uni's in this game that aren't real, yet some real combo's are missing?
