My results using "player skill 13" sliders

note: these are not detailed sliders a la user Marino, but they make for some pretty realistic games without having to tweak individual sliders.

After restarting the first game in my 'Fins franchise time after time after getting completely destroyed by the Falcons I decided that a difficulty in between All-Pro and All-Madden would be a completely realistic setting. All-Madden seems to be just a tad too unrealistic with the CB coverage and QB completions so I set all 4 of my Player Skill general sliders to 13. I did not do any detailed tweaking within these sliders because it just seems to unbalance everything and make things overcomplicated.

Passing - 13
Rushing - 13
Pass Defense - 13
Rush Defense - 13

It just made sense to me to make a difficulty setting just under All-Madden (15), but harder than All-Pro (10). Thought it would most likely turn out be like a "Simulation All-Madden" setting without the robotic AI that comes with the All-Madden difficulty.

SETTINGS:

8 minute quarters without clock acceleration. This is the amazing part, both teams ran exactly 60 plays! Sim heaven.

Injury slider: 25 - players aren't supposed to be dropping like flies every game. It just ruins the experience when I have to worry about someone important getting injured every game when it should not be that frequent.

Game speed: Slow

All the CPU sliders at default (50)

STATS (falcs in red, fins in green):

Matt Ryan - 112.1 rating, 22/32 for 245 yds, 2TD, 68% completion
Pennington - 111.4 rating, 15/20 for 145 yds, 1TD, 75% completion
Pat White - 4/6 for 53 yards

Ronnie Brown - 51 yards rushing 3.0 ypc
Michael Turner - 109 yards rushing 4.5 ypc

Ayodele - 1 interception (they put in Redman for 1 play, lol), 4 tackles, player of the game. Pretty realistic how right when Matt Ryan gets injured and Redman comes in he throw an ugly pick. Interceptions against good QBs are SO RARE this year!

Joey P. and Jason Taylor both had 1 sack, very realistic considering the amount of complaining I'm hearing about getting to the QB. I was also sacked once.

Final score: 13-17 - Amazing loss, didn't feel cheated one bit after the game.

I'd like to hear some more results using these simple sliders.

this sounds reasonable.

While QB % are still a bit too high.. i guess i can deal with this.

please post more stats if you can.

i agree that the QB accuracy was a bit high, but you're dealing with Matt Ryan and Pennington, both accurate/great QBs. notice how right when they subbed out Ryan for Redman he threw a pick.

i'll post more stats after my game 2 against the Colts. i'm just pleased with how decent the stats are coming out with such simple/general slider settings.

Re: My results using "player skill 13" sliders

just had another amazing nail biter. These are shaping up to be some very decent sliders. The run game needs a slight upgrade, but that's the only flaw I see so far.

I lost to the Colts 19-20!

Pennington: 23/34 179 yds 0 TD 0 INT
Manning: 20/30 278 yds 3 TD 3 INT

Ronnie Brown: 48 yds rushing
Addai: 41 yds rushing

Patrick Turner: 51 receiving yds
Pierre Garcon: 120 receiving yds

Channing Crowder: 4 tackles, 2 INT
Joey Porter: 4 tackles, 1 forced fumble
Gary Bracket: 9 tackles

On to San Diego!

This is a pretty good idea for a slider set, but i think ultimately the qb comp % is too high as you have seen in your 2 games. I am in the middle of a game Chargers (me) v Falcons, at half time Rivers is at 75% and Ryan is at 87% comp
