And, fwiw, there's no point in adjusting sliders outside of franchise mode. The game comes out of the box with coaches set to have a def-aggression way too high. makes them blitz often, and makes it easy to just have a hot-read guy you dump it off to for an easy first down. The game simply plays differently in chise mode.
have you not been reading the forums...Ian posted the patch was sent to sony and ms already for release soon.

and my sliders are all done in franchise mode test.....

Of note, imo, to slider folks is the tweaked slider effectiveness, tweaked man coverage, and the tweaked broken tackles chances.

This will change, at least, tackle/break tackle and pass reaction most likely, not to mention whatever "tuned slider effectiveness" is supposed to mean (just what EXACTLY was changed, I wonder)

thanks for link KB.

You make a great point about Franchise is the only way to play.
Online is still more of headache then fun imo.

The guys over at the Zero custom sliders have found some good stuff on adjusting the coaching schemes for better gameplay and stats!
I belive its pg. 67 or around that area.

I'm anxious to see if I can even make the playoffs w/ the Skins now.
I've been trounced on by the Ravens and Steelers so far in pre-season.
This is too fun a game to put on the shelf until this END ALL BUGS patch comes out.
Whats going to be hilarious is all these guys waiting on a Super Patch and all we get is holding calls fixed and tackles. Come on EA don't fail us again

All that really sounds like is the sliders will be more effective when your moving them up or down. For ex. going to do 0 on blk shed or ints will no longer be needed, they will make it more effective around the default area.
It will be a welcomed addition(tuned slider effectiveness) imo. I can't wait to see how they work.
Lets just hope tune slider effectiveness helps gameplay effectiveness.
Now do we know if this will be in the 1st patch or 2nd?

and these sliders or any other slider set will not be what the creator intended....because the patch is going to adjust the effectiveness of the sliders
So how long will it take to get the first sliders up after the patch?

Madden NFL 10 FAQ

Posted On: Sep. 9, 2009 7:27 AM EST By: EA_IanCummings 34 Comments
Hey Madden fans! It's been a little while since we dropped a post here on the blog, but we wanted to use this opportunity to answer a bunch of the most asked questions that have been showing up on forums, twitter, etc.
We thought we'd try something new though and do the FAQ in video form. It just made it more personal.
Some key points before you watch:
- The first title update was completed before the game shipped (in case you are wondering why certain issues didn't make it in)
- We're hard at work on the second title update, focusing primarily on various aspects of gameplay
- We're going to continue to make more of these FAQ videos.

If I get the feedback I got on the Zero Custom sliders, I can have it ready within a week or less.

http://insideblog.easports.com/archi...fl-10-faq.aspx

So the improved slider effectiveness effects run blocking and brk tackling especially. Ian says
WE WILL HAVE BROADCAST CAMERA! I will love watching how these sliders work!
He addresses the flats pass issue! Only thing is the 1st update could be out in 1-3 weeks, so wait 3 more weeks to start a franchise?

Also here is his list of

Misc gameplay tuning/improvements:

1. tuned slider effectiveness(run blocking and brk tackles especially)
2. Made sure run blk slider only modified running plays not on spteams.
3. Made fatigue affect ratings more
4. Tuned broken tackle chances
5. Fixed chuck animation that released to same side
6. Punt out of bounds correct spotting
7. reduced/removed holding on kicking plays
8. improved toe-drag catch logic( for challenges)
9. General pursuit improvements (outside run plays).

So it seems this slider effectiveness will really be more so for the run blking and brk tackling slider. Anxious to know if this was in the 1st update or 2nd? I will watch again to see.
He also upped the pursuit of offensive players so pick 6's wouldn't happen so often. Nice work EA!
It will be in the 1st update, SWEET!

Another thing that Josh said was, fixing the simulated franchise stats! Rushing tds for ex.
