Re: Bubbaman's Post-Patch Challenging Very Slow Sliders

hopefully last edit, but ai forces me to continue to up cpu sliders (specifically as it relates to their passing game and ability to stop the run). Thought was set when blown out by Carolina 41-10 (6 turnovers), but haven't lost since (4 games). Upped CPU QBA/WRC, and all rush defense sliders to 85/65/85. We'll see...

Re: Bubbaman's Post-Patch Challenging Very Slow Sliders

Here are my #'s thru 6 games:

PASSING
Me: 83/144 (58%), 905 yds (6.3 YPA/150.8 YPG), 5 TD/8 INT, 7 Sacks Allowed - 64.7 QB Rating
CPU: 105/156 (67%), 1027 yds (6.6 YPA/171.2 YPG), 3 TD/7 INT, 10 Sacks Allowed - 73.3 QB Rating

RUSHING
Me: 166/631 (3.8 YPC/105.2 YPG), 3 TD/2 FUM Lost
CPU: 146/730 (5.0 YPC/121.7 YPG), 6 TD/4 FUM Lost

So, in response, yes I would agree to lower the AI INT slider to 10 if you're trying to get your 125 plays per game, but as far as increasing hum pass rush or decreasing AI pass block sliders I still think the AI passing game is way too inept, and even if you were to increase pressure, as far as sacks are concerned the majority are still going to be of the coverage variety.
It is what it is. I'm getting relatively challenging games from the AI without it becoming too cheap and the numbers work for the most part. Would I like to avoid the "No F*cking Way" Ints by the AI? Absolutely, but I'd also like for the AI passing game to stop with the checkdowns and be less anemic without giving them 6-7 seconds in the pocket. Bottom line is the passing game is (finally) a challenge: you have to make quick reads/decisions with the ball. And if you're unlike me (PS3/sixaxis) and have rumble support, just eat the ball.

Just trying to help this game to grow a pair...we'll see what happens (or doesn't) with patch #2...good luck man

Re: Bubbaman's Post-Patch Challenging Very Slow Sliders

after my last two games in franchise year 7 w/the Lions and two damn good qbs (A. Rodgers and M. Ryan) going a combined 17/43 148 1/2 (3 sacks), I went ahead and tentatively upped qba and wrc to 100 each and lowered pblk to 20 to (hopefully) help counter-balance the change. Thru one game against J. Russell so far so good...didn't jot down the #'s (I know I had 4 sacks and Russell threw 2 tds and 0 picks), will post after 4 games with these updated sliders (see post #1). Not sure if last ? was posted for me but myskill is currently 562. Thanks...

Re: Bubbaman's Post-Patch Challenging Very Slow Sliders

after testing change in ai passing sliders from 91/25/91 (8 gms) to 100/20/100 (4 games):

prior: 122/199 (61%), 1175 yds (5.9YPA/146.9YPG), 4 TD/9 INT - 65.6 QBR

after: 71/109 (65%), 749 yds (6.9YPA/187.3YPG), 7 TD/1 INt - 102.5 QBR

Encouraged by these results. Concern is lack of Ints, but is a small sample size. Decrease in AI PBL slider had no effect (5 sacks allowed in 4 gms). Will test w/o chg for remaining 4 gms of my season and update w/necessary tweaks. Believe only combination of lowering ai pblk (20) and possibly increasing human pass rush (91) will be needed. Run game still good for both (AI just under 5 YPC/Me just over 4 YPC). Refreshingly BTW, went 1-3 in these games, my win by 10 over Raiders, 3 loses vs Chi, SD, and SEA by 7, 6, and 7 pts.

Re: Bubbaman's Post-Patch Challenging Very Slow Sliders

tried these, so far my qb was annihilated, OL mauled and secondary non existant. only thing that worked for me was the run. i should explain im in year 9 of my 9ers franchise and they are a 96 ovr. i know im not great as a player but the players im not controlling should be better than this. the most obvious thing that hurts is the warp of the dl to their ol. cant get pressure on their qb. o well ill try and tweak or two

Re: Bubbaman's Post-Patch Challenging Very Slow Sliders

Just posting stats, as no tweaks needed imho. Bear in mind that these are just a starting point, no slider set is everything for everybody, this is just what works for me and has been tweaked quite a bit from where it started. If it happens to work for a handful of people, well that's why I posted. As to whether or not you can get pressure on the qb manually, I'd say not, but I don't play with the down linemen and honestly wouldn't suggest it as you're going to need that extra intelligence in coverage(i.e middle of the field)/run support(tosses/sweeps and counters off tackle). Is there some suction blocking with these? Absolutely, but again, these were intended to get a challenge from the cpu without having to play with "house rules". The AI QB has the tendency to be mediocre without tons of pressure, I can't imagine what they'd play like with it (flashbacks to NFL 2k5 pre-editor). I appreciate the feedback. Anyway, In year 8 of my chise, thru 8 games (7-1, majority were <10 pt games) with updated sliders from original post:

PASSING:
Me: 147/241 (61%), 1715 yds (7.1 YPA/214.3 YPG), 15 TD/12 INT, 12 sacks allowed, 82.6 QBR
AI: 142/219 (65%), 1690 yds (7.7 YPA/211.3 YPG), 11 TD/6 INT, 15 sacks allowed, 93.5 QBR

RUSHING:
Me: 222/826 (3.7 YPC/103.3 YPG), 7 TD/4 FUM Lost
AI: 164/841 (5.1 YPC/105.1 YPG), 3 TD/3 FUM Lost
