Best Fatigue Setup?

Which fatigue set-up do you think is best to try to emulate?

-A set-up where depth is important, so you see the back-ups come in a lot. This would seem to encourage having a more solid roster on the bench.

-A set-up where starter stamina is most important. Back-ups won't play much, especially on defense, and the TOP would seem to be more important since the starters are going to be playing the bulk of the game. Statistically, it should get the starters their numbers.

I'm not sure which way I want to go. I want to make defenses get tired, but maybe having the back-ups come in could do more than fatigue could ever do (and keep it realistic).

Also, what fatigue/sub settings does the AI use? The ones you set? The default?
