What rating is considered "average"? Does EA even have an "average" rating?

What I mean is that if a player is NFL average at a skill, what rating does he get? 80? 75? 85?

This would help in determining if sliders are generating good stats given the ratings of the players involved instead of just in a vacuum.

I would like to know this as well because in my franchise I have several 70s players with D potential out performing C-B's with higher overalls. I know the overalls are not the end all be all but where's the middle ground.

I'm not about to average out every single player in the game but I'm guessing it's between 75-80 but probably closer to 75.
