Re: Putting the D back in MaDDen [Redsfan's Sliders]

Just finished my 2nd game. I was the panthers against the Packers. I won 6-3 lol Packers kicker went 1-4 so the score would of have been different. Aaron Rodgers was 18 for 32 with 273 yds and 1 int which was in the redzone. Matt Moore went 8-20 with 137 yds...he sucks. Williams and Stewart combinded for 27 att. with 116 yds. Grant rushed for 61 yds. I was thinking when i started this game that Rodgers was gonna break passing records because the panthers secondary isnt exactly top 10 material. Im going to try and use a good team against a poor team and let you know how that goes.

Difficulty and sliders aren't separate any more. The "difficulty" levels come with pre-set sliders. Once you make the slider changes, the game defaults to using your "Custom" set.

Re: Putting the D back in MaDDen [Redsfan's Sliders]

Just had my first loss 21-10 S.F. over Cleveland. Gave up around 350 yds of total offense. I was up 3-0 at the half but could not move the ball at all. 37 rushing yards total and 280 yds passing but most of that was 4th quarter catchup playing. I put up a garbage TD with 51 seconds left and got the onside kick but could not capitalize. I did get 4 sacks on D but turned the ball over twice inside the 20 on fumbles. Niners scored on 2 TDs deep and one where gore wound up completely uncovered. Smith went 14-21 with 201 yds and 3 tds. Excellent game and one that I was not upset to lose.

Lost this one in the final seconds. I made some costly mistakes late in this one. The long Randy Moss TD should have been stopped. I went for the INT and got burnt. Overall a really solid game.

New to the site, but these sliders are on point. Real good feeling game.

Playin the packers right now, having a tuff time passing but that is just more my dumb playing than the game.

Re: Putting the D back in MaDDen [Redsfan's Sliders]

Ray Rice just went off on the Colts!

Score: BAL (me) 30 INDY 24

Passing:

Flacco 12-22 185 yards, 0 td 0 int

Manning 15-27 214 yards, 1 td 0 int

Rushing:

Rice 22 carries 215 yards, 2 td
McGahee 8 carries 43 yards, 1 td

Addai 13 carries 101 yards, 1 td

Receiving:
Rice 9 catches 109 yards

Clark 7 catches 145 yards

324 total yards by Rice. Indy's D could not stop him. I had 2 fumbles on consecutive drives late in the 4th. Luckily Rice broke an 81 yard on the next series to ice it.

Re: Putting the D back in MaDDen [Redsfan's Sliders]

(M2H is better know to many others as Mudcat)

After 3 games with my Madden 10 sliders and tweaks to them it was very apparent that a return to square one was needed. Figured OS would be the best place to check for a slider set to try and I appear to have been correct.

Coach Mode
15 min. quarters, 25 sec. runoff
Gameflow activated but mostly call my on plays

This game is from a slider testing franchise in which I use a different pair of teams each week. Week 4, D-Mac makes a somewhat less than triumphant return to Philly:

Eagles (CPU) 24, Redskins 7

Other than the anemic Human rushing, this game had a great feel to it. It could have been much closer but for the 'Skins' three turnovers to none for the Eagles. One of McNabb's picks took at least three points off the board and the other was followed by a short TD drive for Philly. For me, Portis had a horrible average but that's from every 4-5 yard run being offset by a 2 yard loss. LJ would have got more PT if he hadn't lost a fumble.

One thing I wasn't happy with was the carry splits for the CPU running backs. That may be because this slider set has a lower fatigue setting than my old one. My sub numbers for RB's were 88/92. I'm going to try 89 for the sub out.

Like others, I'm not going to rush to judgment on on playing. My results must also be evaluated as coach mode vs. what stick jockeys are getting, whatever tweaks I make may only be optimal for coach mode. That said, the 2 things that bear the most watching are the human YPC and the CPU completion %.

Injury notes: Wide receivers Anthony Gonzalez and Dwayne Bowe did not play. On the game's second play from scrimmage, Antonio Johnson put Matt Cassell out for the rest of the first quarter. Dallas Clark wenbt out for the game in the first Indy possession. In the third quarter, Gary Brackett went out with a broken collarbone (11 weeks).

For my next game I wanted to play as team that should have no trouble winning against its opponent for the week. I had lost 3 out of 4, with the 17-point loss to the Eagles with these sliders being my smallest margin of defeat. My one win, under my old sliders, was an aberration where the Seahawks somehow beat the Broncos 49-6.

You still have to work at it, which is very good, but the Colts were never in any danger in this one, as it should be 9 times out of 10. Brandon James lost a fumble on the opening kickoff. Phillip Wheeler blew up Terrance Copper in the end zone to break up a potential TD, then Cassell went out on an incomplete pass. Croyle threw incomplete, the Cheaps had zero yards in 3 plays, and they kicked a 38 yard FG. The Colts scored in their first three possessions, but two of those were FG's. Indy led 13-3 at the half.

After going up 20-3 on Manning's second TD pass to Santi, I started playing keep-away, running on 1st and 2nd down to keep the clock moving. From the beginning I was snapping the ball with the time clock at 4 secondsif the clock was running. It appeared that the opening field goal was going to be KC's only score of the game until it finally mounted a 4th quarter TD drive, scoring on a 3 yard run by Thomas Jones with 10:42 to play. After the Chiefs made it 20-10, I opened up the offense some to try to get a score that would seal it up. I was using mostly short passes to keep moving the ball but also to keep the clock going and have this drive use up most of what was left of the clock, but then Addai broke a 50 yard TD run up the gut. Without that, his ypc would have been atrocious. Cassell threw 2 4th quarter picks, the second in the end zone to Jacob Lacey with 1:03 to go.

I think I'm going to end up boosting the human running game, but I'm going to give the existing settings one more go-round first.

KC didn't run the ball enough for their to be an evaluation of rushing splits for the CPU backs.

Liked seeing Wayne get 8 catches. In most of my Madden franchises, my no.1 receiver was never much of a factor and the no. 2 spot would lead the team in catches.

HATE the f'u'n triple-tap kick meter. Can't hit the third tap (accuracy) for turds. Missing XP's and kicking off OB. Should be auto-kicking in coach mode anyway-EA needs to bring that back even though there was no such thing as a coffin corner punt with it.

Cassell may have made the CPU QB completion % factor moot, but I'm still early in the testing process.

Only 3 total sacks in two games (all in the first one) with these sliders. Pass rush for both human and CPU may need help, but another thing that will be left alone for now.
