Putting the D back in MaDDen [Redsfan's Sliders]

I've logged about 15-20 games of Madden the past few days when I haven't been working or doing homework. The game is beautiful, but at first I was very frustrated by the lack of defense and the ease of scoring..however I've put together a slider set that seems to remedy that problem, at least in the games that I've played.

Here's what I have for now:

Playcall Style: Gameflow (optional, but if you take the time to make a plan you are comfortable with it really is a nice feature...)
Play Clock: On
Coordinator Audio: Off (you can have it on I just find it annoying and it takes away from the atmosphere of the stadium)
Coordinator Subtitles: Off
Quarter Length: 12 minutes
Accelerated Clock: 25 seconds
Camera Settings: Standard
Auto Strafe/Sprint: On
Injuries: 39
Fatigue: 57
Game Speed: Normal
Player Min Speed Threshold: 65 (important, speedy players have too large an advantage otherwise)

Penalties: (my weakest area..if you have better penalty sliders feel free to share)

Base Sliders:

Offsides: 90
False Start: 95
Holding: 54
Facemask: 53
Defensive PI: 72
Offensive PI: 76
KR/PR Interference: 83
Clipping: 50
Int Grounding: 92
Roughing the Passer/Kicker: 92

Human Sliders

QB Accuracy: 29
Pass Blocking: 46
WR Catching: 38

Broken Tackles: 18
Run Blocking: 39
Fumbles: 57

Reaction Time: 67
INT: 10
Pass Rushing: 46

Reaction Time: 37
Block Shedding: 44
Tackling: 64

CPU Sliders

QB Accuracy: 56
Pass Blocking: 54
WR Catching: 53

Broken Tackles: 14
Run Blocking: 57
Fumbles: 57

Reaction Time: 85
INT: 15
Pass Rushing: 60

Reaction Time: 75
Block Shedding: 62
Tackling: 67

Still working on ST sliders...but those play OK out of the box from what I've seen. Nothing too terrible there, I will work on those more soon. I've mainly been focused on improving defense and lowering scoring/big plays. You really have to sustain drives to score with these sliders, which is what the NFL is all about.

New Version 1.2:

QB Accuracy: 29
Pass Blocking: 46
WR Catching: 38

Broken Tackles: 18
Run Blocking: 48
Fumbles: 40

Reaction Time: 65
INT: 10
Pass Rushing: 45

Reaction Time: 35
Block Shedding: 42
Tackling: 64

CPU Sliders

QB Accuracy: 56
Pass Blocking: 54
WR Catching: 53

Broken Tackles: 14
Run Blocking: 60
Fumbles: 60

Reaction Time: 85
INT: 15
Pass Rushing: 60

Reaction Time: 75
Block Shedding: 60
Tackling: 66

Here's what I have on Special Teams:

FG Power: 50
FG Accuracy: 45
Punt Power: 45
Punt Accuracy: 60
Kickoff Power: 45

Last game I played:

Browns 10 (me)
Steelers 24 (cpu)

Roethlisberger: 17-24, 200 yds, 3 TD
Jake Delhomme: 16-28, 193 yds, TD, INT

Mendenhall: 21 car, 98 yds, fumble
Harrison: 22 car, 25 yds

Hardesty: 2 car, 12 yds

Wallace: 3 rec, 91 yds, TD
Watson: 5 rec, 57 yds

Each team allowed one sack, James Farrior had the INT for Pitt.

Re: Putting the D back in MaDDen [Redsfan's Sliders]

Just played another game...

Dolphins (me) 9
Jaguars (cpu) 7

It was a defensive battle, the play of the game was actually a FG. LOL. First time I've ever seen that.

Stats:

Henne: 17-29, 173 yds
Garrard: 14-33, 164 yds, TD

Brown: 17 car, 29 yds
Williams: 3 car, 31 yds
Jones-Drew: 20 car, 72 yds

Williamson: 7 rec, 93 yds
Fasano: 4 rec, 36 yds
Marshall: 4 rec, 83 yds
Sims-Walker: 3 rec, 31 yds, TD

5 sacks for me, 2 for Jacksonville

The human rush game could use a bit of a bump..but it's playing a better brand of football than out of the box. I think these sliders could be a nice base, they just need some tweaks.

How well does Gameflow work with the Coordinator option set to off?

To me it's fine, I don't need to hear the coordinator explain to me how a play is run.

Does the pop-up on the screen still come up to explain the play coming in and strategy for execution, or is that lost when the option is turned off?

You can turn subtitles on and have the audio off I believe. It's all in the options screen.

Hi Redsfans ,
Do you still get big plays with your sliders or is it more a 10 yard fight ?
Thanks for sharing
