same settings, new teams, i went with two strong defensive teams Jets (cpu) @ Ravens (me) that were in the playoffs last season, another great game!!
was very close until 4th qtr despite the final score suggests, the jets scored with 4min left to go up two tds, then again in final 2min to secure win (again fatigue by both defenses was apparent in 4t qtr), ravens scored on a screen play to ray rice in final drive to make score look respectable. the ravens fumbled three times (lost two), the jets scored on the first fumble recovery with a scoop and run of about 30yds for their 1st td score late in 2nd qtr. the jets missed two medium range field goals wide left (barely).
Jets D is tough!!!! Jets Run Game is tough!!!
here are stats:
NFL Scoreboard - NEW YORK JETS (0-0) at BALTIMORE (0-0)
Jacobs: 21 Att for 197 Yards; 5 TD's 0 Fumb
Cadillac: 17 Att for 76 Yards 0 TD's 0 Fumb
Bradshaw: 7 Att for 27 Yards 1 TD 0 Fumb
Final: 56 - 17
Way too easy on offense as I averaged 9 YPC and had all the time in the world to throw the football. These are a good base set for the CPU offense but need to be re-vamped completely for the USER offense.
- Need more of a pass rush from the CPU
- Need better coverage
- Need better run defense
Also, between the two teams, there was at least 10 dropped picks and I didn't record one the entire game. Might bump that up a little too.
I made a couple adjustments to up the cpu offense a bit and tone the HUM offense down, while upping the HUM pass rush because no matter what the defense or the cpu offensive line. Way too many times the CPU would have 6-8 seconds in the pocket which is insanity.
Aside from those very few tweaks. They have been playing great. Best set I've found so far. I'm just looking at keeping the scores/yards realistic, and would love to lose just as much as I win. Last year I wound up losing 2 games out of probably close to 200. So the game got boring. So far this year I've already lost 3, which is great.
I just finished a game (random teams til I start a franchise), wound up as the Cowboys At Bucs.
I won 28-25. Great game, was close all the way through and the difference ended up being a missed 52 yard field goal by them in the first quarter. They fought their way back in at halftime and it was 21-17. I went up 28-17 and they got a touchdown on their next drive and got the 2pt conversion. On 3rd and 13 with 1:02 left in the game I converted and took a knee after that. Great game. My biggest challenge has to been to find a set of sliders that makes every game competitive. If I am the Saints and I have the Bills on my schedule, I don't want to mark it off as a guaranteed win, because it doesn't work like that in the real world. After all, if there was a such thing as a guaranteed win we wouldn't have the term "Any Given Sunday".
So far these have provided both a great challenge and also a realistic feel to the game. With great stats and tight defense. I've yet to be in any "shootouts" so far. My highest scoring game was 35-31. The one before this was 14-10. I didn't have much of a problem with the defense that everyone seems to think is non existent to begin with, but these definitely improve defense a bit. Every "big" play in this game from the Bucs was my fault. Each time I realized what I'd done wrong and they capitalized on it. That's football and I'm totally okay with that happening.
Thank you very much for this slider set NyGiants, all your hard work is much appreciated and if there's anything I can do, be it post all my stats/box score after every game I've played using your slider set or giving you feedback in general, just shoot me a message and I'll be happy to answer your questions or help in any way that I can.
Just had another great game with these. Ended up winning 35-24. I was the Falcons @ Chiefs. Tied 14 at halftime. Up 21-14 at the end of the 3rd. Just trying to kill some clock and Turner hadn't had a great game by any means, 18 yards on 8 carries at the half. Then he decided to morph into Turner the burner and got loose for a 49yard Touchdown scamper. After a Chiefs 3 and out, he added a 37yard score to put the game out of reach. 35-14. They scored on a Hail Mary when I got greedy and went for a pick, 67 yard TD pass to J. Urban. Then a field goal (inexplicably), guess the coach wanted to make it seem a bit closer than it was.
All in all it was competitive and they never felt out of it until Turner added that last TD run. It was cool to see him shut down in the first half, but I found Roddy White for 3 first half touchdown passes, including a beautiful 83 yarder after he burnt his guy and the safety bit hard on my pump fake. So after the half, it was almost like they made adjustments. They started playing the pass, doubling Roddy, so the run opened up, it was really cool.
As far as my adjustments dakpak, I wouldn't say they're finished yet. I still feel as though I'm having a bit too easy of a time passing. And I need to bump up the cpu running because I've yet to have an HB break 100 yards on me with this slider set. Let me go through a few more games and I'll post them once I feel as though they're finished. Probably tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning, that cool bro? I just don't want to give you an unfinished product. Aside from that, if you're losing on a consistent basis, they probably wouldn't be for you as I'm aiming mostly for what I call "realistic difficulty". Where the CPU is challenging to play against, but not "all madden" cheap. I think probably after 2 or 3 more games they should be right where I want them. I need to go up against a team with a great HB and see if it's more the RB's I'm going against or it's the sliders. I will definitely be back to you.
another good battle between two playoff teams from last season JETS (cpu) @ BENGALS (me), i tweaked just about all the sliders slightly (some higher, some lower) having taken some pointers from other slider threads (playmakers & redsfan & mike32ownz). i also increased qtr length to 12min with 20sec runoff, had about 55 plays each team including punts and fg attempts. also increased fatigue slightly, wanted to see if backups get more reps (not really yet)...
game played very well and realistic stats imo, although i continue to struggle with passing game, carson palmer was very inconsistent with his accuracy, and was under lots of pressure by Jets blitzes (3 sacks) so i settled to dump ball to RBs out of backfield when didnt have time to find open WR. cedric benson was tough runner vs jets swarming D.
keep in mind i have yet to win a game (going on 5 gms) with these sliders, but the gameplay is great and is what i care about. i am aware of my mistakes that have probably caused me to lose each game (ie, untimely turnovers, penalties, bad playcalls on both offense or defense, going for big hit or diving tackle attempts which lead to big runs by cpu, misplaying ball in air going for int resulted in big pass gain by cpu, etc), but thats ok. im having fun playing sim football
