***Elway7's "Coach Mode" Sliders***

Hi guys! First post.

Well, there they are. I've played about 8 games with these so far and have had decent results, except for the running game. I've made tweaks to the running game in this post, so more play testing is needed, but I think it's pretty close.

I'm using the Steelers right now in a season and currently sport a 1-3 record.

Game 1
Steelers 25
Falcons 28 OT

Game 2
Steelers 24
Titans 9

Game 3
Steelers 12
Buccaneers 24

Game 4
Steelers 0
Ravens 21

Enjoy my friends! Happy Coaching!!!!!!

Re: ***Elway7's "Coach Mode" Sliders***

I have been trying to develop coach mode slide with little success (and little opportunity to work on it). I ran through a game last night and here are the results. I used a mix of gameplan and conventional playcalling.

18 NYJ (CPU) vs. Den (Me) 17

The Jets had 6 FGs but never really sustained a drive and never ran the ball effectively. The Jets tried to go deep several times, always into double coverage.

NYJ - Sanchez 15/24, 179yds, 0 ints
S. Greene 25 carries 39 years, 0 fum, long 8 yds
Thomlinson 3 carries 17 years
Cotchery 4 catches 56

Den - Orton 16/30 152 yds, 1 TD, 3 int (all by linebackers)
K. Moreno 14 carries, 42 yds, 1 TD, 0 fumbles, long 12 yds (7 car, 0 yds in first half)
Gaffney 5 catches, 71 yds
Royal 3 catches , 28 yds

I liked the passing game. The Jets put a lot of pressure on Orton and all of the interception were a result of that pressure. Although, I think we can tweak the slider to help minimize the multiple deep passes. The CPU running game needs to be adjusted a bit as the Jets should be able to run the ball more effectively. I was happy with Denver's running game (and the Jets Def).

At halftime, I adjusted the runoff to 20 sec, because with 12 min quarter and 25 sec runoff, you will not get enough plays. I might 12 min, 20 runoff for an entire game.

Overall, its a great starting point. I am definitely going to run a couple of games to test.

Thanks

Re: ***Elway7's "Coach Mode" Sliders***

I played on coach mode last night. The one thing I notice initially is that to get approx 120 plays per game, which I believe is around the NFL norm, you need 15 minute quarters with 25 second run off. I played the game on the standard pro sliders with no tweaks to anything.

Off the bat I noticed obviously that penalties need A LOT of tweaking and will be working on those unless Elways's turn out really well; will try them later. The game ended up 28-24, SF over Chicago in Chicago. Gore carried the ball for 86 yards at an average of 4.4 ypc I believe. Forte only had 10 carries for 20 yards.

The passing game on both sides was good. Cutler threw for 350 yards with a pick and 3 TD's at a 60% completion ration. Smith threw for 250 or so I believe with a Completion percentage around 55% with 2 td's and an int. Both QB's were sacked 3 times.

The top in receptions was 8 for Chicago by Aromashodu and Hester had 2 TD catches. Crabtree led the way with 87 yards receiving and 6 catches for SF.

Tackles, INT's and Sacks were all in order.

I'll be playing another shortly with Elway's penalties and standard pro sliders and will update.

Re: ***Elway7's "Coach Mode" Sliders***

I played another with the Jets and Broncos, but this time I controlled the Jets. After my first game, I thought the sliders might have been favoring the player, but I think I was wrong.

NYJ 14 – Den 38.

Denver dominated from the start both offensive and defensively. However, there were a lot more big plays and injures in this game. Denver constantly threw the ball (which was expected) and blitzed (not expected).

NYJ
M. Sanchez 16/31, 282 yds, 1TD, 2 INT, 2 Fumbles (both lost), Sacked 5
S. Greene 17 /39 yds, Long 33
L. Tomlinson 3/15 yds, Long 13 (so other than the 2 runs the running game was non-existent again)

B. Edwards 4/125, 1 TD, Long 78 (deep pass where he was 10 yds behind the defense)
S. Holmes 4/56
D. Keller 4/53
J. Cotchery 3/43

Denver
K. Orton 27/36, 344 yds, 3TD, 0 Int, Long 60, Sacked 2. A lot of short passes.
N. Moreno 14/33, 1TD, Long 12. Not bad in total considering the NYJ def, but often caught for a loss.
D. Thomas 6/70 yds
N. Moreno 5/24 yds

So the next time around, I am going to adjust the CPU Rush Reaction Time to 41 and the Block Shedding to 37 and the Player Rush Reaction Time to 41 and the Block Shedding to 37. Since over the 2 games the player has had 5 INTs thrown and the CPU 0, I am going to adjust the Player QB Accuracy to 29, Player INT to 15, and CPU QB Accuracy to 53 amd CPU Int to 7.

I will worry about the penalty sliders later. Probably will not post again until the Sunday.

Great stuff Eon!
Yeah, things definitely need a tweaking. I'm getting pretty realistic scoring and passing, but the darn rushing is killing me. I definitely want to see what you figure out. i tweaked some more things myself, and will update once i play three or four more games.
