mr_pres's balanced game sliders

i'm still in the lab so these are not final, but they are close.

there are some things in this game that sliders can not fix. so in an effort to get the most balanced game possible i came up with these sliders. i started with everything zeroed out and gradually increased the skill sliders(passing catching etc.)

the one big problem is getting the cpu to hold onto the ball. i think the only way that is going to happen is through roster edits.

GAME OPTIONS:
10 min.
ACC. clock on 20 sec run off. turn it down to 15 if you think you need more plays
injuries 40(may raise to 45)
fatigue 66(still working on this)
game speed -very slow( those 5-6 yard gains that happen with the speed on normal are reduced to 2-3 yard pickups. the animations seem to be a bit smoother)
threshold - 0 (because your QB accuracy slider is low, his passes will miss the mark thus forcing your receivers to make adjustments to the ball which in turn will break their stride allowing the D to gather themselves to make a play)

PENALTIES:
offsides - 100
false start - 96
holding - 53
facemask - default
DPI - 85(this is to reduce some of the ridiculous touchy calls by the ref)
OPI - 95(may increase it)
KR/PR int - 75
Clipping - default
RTP - 20
RTK - 20

PLAYER SKILL
passing
QBA- 25
PB - 7
WRC - 25

Rushing:
BT - 7
RB - 44(45 seems to be the sweet spot when the giant holes appear regularly..but still testing)
FUM - 12-13(use the cover up button if you don't want to put the ball on the ground)

PASS D
RT - 49(you get a good realistic jump on the ball)
INT - 2
PR - 45(the d-line hits players and not holes, still experimenting with this slider in hopes that it will help with the LB's getting to the QB)

RUSH D
RT - 0 (because of the suction and the way the madden rules apply, you can leave it at zero and still be effective.)
BS - 34-39 (i use 38, it is a safe bet to keep it in the 30's. anything more and you will shed blocks like crazy and the AI will not attempt to run the ball as often)
TACK - 30(may lower

CPU SKILL
passing
QBA - 19 (no one is perfect and your QB will give a more "human" performance..may drop this a couple more clicks)
PB - 7 (it's hard enough getting to the QB as it is so they don't need that much help)
WRC - 23 (they will drop some, and go after some..but nothing is guaranteed)

rushing
BT - 3 (they still manage to break tackles. strong backs play like strong backs and the same goes for the smaller backs)
RB - 30 (makes up for the low BT slider. they compliment each other)
Fum - 4 (the AI covers up the ball really well, but if you do happen to find him fumbling to much raise it to equal the user fumble slider)

pass d
RT - 3 (because of the lower settings everywhere else this compliments well, certain teams will yield big yardage, and others will still shut you down)
INT - 3 (still get picks, but now they happen in situations where they should)
PR - 24 (the AI has no problem getting to you, this setting gives you the appropriate time if you call the right plays and shift your line accordingly)

rush d
RT - 3 (the AI knows your plays so his RT is always going to be high despite wht the number says. with it low you can stil lhit holes)
BS - 19 (a low setting helps with the low setting of RT. you can still manage big runs but only with proper play calling.)
TACK - 25 (they will bring you down and in some instances you will get away...really good balance and compliment to the other 2 sliders in this cat.)

special teams are at default(still testing)

a couple of things to note:
- the KR/PR game is affected by the run block slider.
- remember to cover up the ball
- use your Oline formation shifts and audibles.

one question
has anyone figured out how to slow the AI down when at the line?? it still snaps the ball to fast making it difficult to make adjustments?? i tried turning acc. clock off but there was no change.

thanks guy's enjoy.

Re: mr_pres's balanced game sliders

another thing of note, every game will play out differently. you will get blow outs and close games and there will be the upsets...overall you get a good balance.

Fun game. Actually felt like I was playing the Bills. My DB's got beat a few times deep in blitzing plays, but Edwards missed his guys deep. Passing game felt about right. Maybe a bit more on the side of interceptions since each team had a gift-wrapped INT thrown right in their lap that they dropped. Running game on the user side felt a bit tough. CPU defenders seemed to shed blocks a bit fast and grab Gerhart from the side to pull him down. His longest rush of the day was 11 yards. I'll see if it's a recurring theme, especially once AP comes back from his torn shoulder labrum in another week . Overall, I liked how these played.

One question I have concerning the threshold though. I've read that 0 threshold minimizes the "speed burst catching" as well as "suction tackles" and wondered if that's really true. Not a deal breaker either way, as I like how fast guys can really pull away from my slow Viking DB's.

A bit of a blowout, got outta control in the second half. As you can tell, my running game was much better this game which was a pleasant surprise. Broke 3 tackles with Gerhart and 2 with Young. Probably broke more with Percy, he had a big game. Overall, I still haven't felt cheated by the CPU at all, which rocks. The only two things that have stayed on my mind after two games with these sliders are the amount of broken tackles and the time in the pocket. Granted, the Giants played a lot of zone with 4 man rush on me, I felt like I had all day quite often. Something I'll keep an eye on as I play this weekend. Again, thanks for the slider set and I look forward to some more enjoyable games (and hopefully a loss soon )

it is not out of the question to raise PR of the cpu. i wouldn't go to high with it because your pass block slider is pretty low. i've been getting more pressure from certain teams like the ravens and the jets.

Re: mr_pres's balanced game sliders

I just wanted to pop in and say that I play with these sliders with 12 minute quarters, and they are absolutely the best, most realistically challenging madden sliders I have ever played with.

Currently in season 2 with the Colts, and find every game to be a real fight, and I'm prevailing in 12-14 regular season games, which is right on the money.

Stats are also very realistic. Gotta say these are the best I've seen thusfar.
