With Brees being one of the most accurate passers in the league, if he had accuracy issues, then that should tell us that human QBA at 5 is too low. The game was started with human WRC still at 45, but I raised it to 50 when his first two passes were on the money and dropped.

After the changes since the first of these 4 posts, the settings are now:

Great game for Brees, so it looks like it's safe to say the human QB's can tolerate QBA at 5. We started out with a horrible game by a 71 OVR rookie in the rain in Pittsburgh and ended up with Brees being Brees. 0 INT for him even with the setting on 50. And a note on the previous INT's. Both of Garrard's were to MLB Demeco Ryans, and both of picks by the Eagles were by MLB Casey Matthews, one of his clearly being of the jetpack variety. Which reminded me of a suggestion I saw elsewhere- lower the jump ratings of all linebackers (which does not affect their OVR). So before this game I went into the rosters and lowered the Jump for all of the Saints and Texans linebackers by 30. No jetpack picks or knockdowns in this game.

Schaub went from 50% to 68%, and I'd like to see that 68% come down a little. It was only one game, but I'm thinking the CPU QBA sweet spot may be less than what you would use with averaging accuracy ratings. I'll some testing with CPU QBA at 75 for starters. One I'm happy with what average to good QB's are doing, I'll have to play against a stinker like Tarvaris Jackson to make sure that the sub-60% QB's don't benefit from the setting.

And to me it looks like the running game is dialed in.
Would you also mind posting what you are using for all of the Special Teams settings?

And RB Sub in / Sub Out?

Fatigue?

Game speed? Player Min Speed Threshold?

Re: Madden 12 coach mode sliders

Alright here is the cpu-vs-cpu settings I am using right now. Remember these are just for the cpu skills.

QB Accuracy-15
Pass Blocking-100
WR Catching-48

Broken Tackles-0
Run Blocking-40
Fumbles-40

Reaction Time-15
Interceptions-24
Pass Rushing-93

Reaction Time-20
Block Shedding-5
Tackling-40

Right now I am 3 games into my franchise and I am Denver and I'm 2-1. The first game against Oakland my team was crushed 44-16. Kyle Orton was 18-29 for 211 yards and a TD. Jason Campbell for Oakland was 18-30 349 yards 4 TDs and 1 INT. The rushing game was pretty good, Moreno for me was 12 carries 59 yards, and for Oakland McFadden was 19 for 124 yards and 1 TD.

Game 2 was the Bengals and it was a shootout with Denver winning 38-35. Orton was 20-24 for 324 yards and 3 TDs and 1 INT. I know some people think the QB accuracy is to low, well you can see its not. The Bengals had Gradkowski starting and he started like 9-9 before missing a pass. After that it kind of fell apart for him, he finished 22-37 for 263 yards 3TDs and 4INTs. Again the rushing game was good Benson went 22 carries for 136 yards. Moreno had a bad game 20 carries 72 yards and a TD.

Game 3 we were in Tennessee and won 34-12. The Titans had Locker playing, Hasselbeck was hurt(big surprise, right?) He wasn't to bad 16-25 178 and 2 INTs. Orton was just awful in the first half but ended up 17-31 300 yards with 3 TDs and 3 INTs. I thought Chris Johnson would go off on me, but we held him to 16 carries for 45 yards. So the running game can be stopped. For Denver Moreno was not great, but McGahee was good getting 92 yards rushing.

So all in all I think that the stats look pretty good. Like I said before I know a lot of people would think the QB accuracy is to low but its not. Orton through 3 games is completing 65% of his passes and is averaging 9.9 yards per attempt.

One other thing I know people are wondering about is sacks. I have 9 sacks in 3 games and have been sacked 7 times. McBean one of me DTs leads the team with 3 sacks. Von Miller has 2, and both came at DE. I play him there on nickle and dime defenses. Also his first sack came on a spin move not a power move. His second he just blew by the RT.

Enjoy guys I love watching these games they are fun.

ST, Fatigue, Threshold are unchanged from what cusefan posted.

RB sub is 89/93

Also settled on the following changes after 2 games with CPU QBA at 75:

CPU QBA: 80
CPU Pass Def. Reac.: 30
HUM INT: 10
HUM and CPU pass rush: 90

Re: Madden 12 coach mode sliders

I love the challenge of making an accurate representation of an nfl game and the only way to do this without taking advantage of money plays and skill is coach mode.

The biggest issue I have always found in trying to get a realistic, challenging game with accurate box scores is yards per attempt. In the NFL the league average hovers around 7 yards per attempt, in Madden it is always drastically higher. This number is far more important than completion %. If offenses are completing passes at an NFL rate of about 63% but are averaging around 10 yards per attempt (what im guessing madden averages are) you are going to be moving the ball a hell of a lot better than when you are averaging 7 yards per attempt.

This also goes hand in hand, lower yardage attempts will result in higher completion percentages, while going down the field should drop completion %s. If there is a way to make the CPU call plays more conservatively you may see their completion % increase.
