I believe so, yes. However, the major difference is that you are considered the coach and NOT the owner. Therefore, if you suck and are not meeting goals, you may be fired and have to try and sign on with a new team. Or, at that point, you may retire that coach and take over as the team's new coach or any other coach in your "League." Supposedly, I learned all of this from the official Madden blog.

Also, other differences are that there is not longer a "potential" system in place. Now all player development is controlled by you using points that you've earned during games and practices. Yes, you can now develop players more by practicing a bunch. You may not edit any players. You may not play any other games in your "franchise" but the team you are coaching. These changes are causing quite a stir apparently, among some fans.

I'm nervous, but if I hate it, then I'll just keep playing my Madden 12 franchise.

Also, you may not create players to add to your team in Coach mode. You also may not import any players in any mode from NCAA 13 anymore.


My guess is that they'll try to patch these things back in at some point later in the season via updates. According to one of the developers they simply, "ran out of time to add these features."


Which leads me to believe the game might be glitchy, as always, to begin with.

Yes, you guys did. I came to the slider section specifically looking to see if you guys were doing a Madden version of your sliders as well. Looks like another few weeks of just random gameplay for me until you guys release the goods.

Have already started working on these. One of my friends has Season Ticket and I have spent more time at his house testing than he has played. I like to get a feel of the game before I start testing sliders, so I'll be playing a lot of default All-Pro and All-Madden to see which plays better.
