Re: M13 KILLER SLIDERS FOR OFFLINE CCM... GUARANTEED CPU RUN GAME

Hey Wiz, just wanted to update you on how my CCM has been playing out with your sliders. I've played almost 2 seasons since my last update. I appreciate the time and effort you put into these.

Rushing:

The run game is dialed in nearly perfectly for me. Last time I mentioned that the read option was too effective against the CPU. I think it's more of an AI issue with poor playcalling, as opposed to something you can fix with sliders. I still wish it was more difficult for the QB to break long runs, but watching Kaepernick rush for 180 yards against Green Bay, I'm okay seeing these long option runs in my CCM. There's no way I could rush for 180 with these sliders.

Passing:

I was having trouble getting the CPU to be effective passing the ball. I should mention that I don't have an extra controller, so I can't change the CPU's playbook. Not sure if that affects the CPU's passing tendency or ability. Also, my team is quite good in coverage. All four of my LB's have 80+ zone coverage.

CPU QB's were throwing too many wild passes, leading to too many USER interceptions and an overall ineffective CPU passing game. I had many games end with the CPU QB having fewer than 200 yards and sub-50% completion. I was also seeing too many USER interceptions.

Another slight issue I had was with USER pass rushing. I was seeing too many sacks, especially from the LOLB (3-4). This is a Madden issue, I think. The defensive left side gets more pressure on the pocket than the right side, even though my right side (Aldon/Justin Smith) is better than my left.

So in order to address these small issues I had, I made the following changes:

I increased CPU Passing to 100 and CPU Catching to 80. This might seem drastic, but the CPU QB still makes mistakes, overthrows, etc. especially when under pressure. The CPU WR's still drop passes, especially when a defender is nearby, so their CIT rating is still a factor, I think. These adjustments have made getting pressure on the CPU QB even more important than having good coverage in the secondary, which I think is realistic. CPU QB's are having more effective games, more realistic completion %, fewer interceptions, and generally seem more competent.

I lowered USER pass rushing to 0, and increased CPU Pass Blocking to 10 in order to give the CPU QB more time, and reduce the frequency of USER sacks. However, I'm still seeing a realistic amount of USER sacks, and am able to get pressure on the QB if I need to. There's a good amount of risk/reward in the playcalling now. Last game I had 3 team sacks. Aldon had 2, so the elite pass rushers are still getting through.

I lowered USER INT to 15 and USER Pass Reaction (increased b/c reversed) to 60 to give the CPU passing game a boost. I'm still seeing USER interceptions at a realistic rate, and the CPU passing is more effective.

I've increased CPU Run Blocking to 55 and CPU Fumbles to 60, while lowering USER Tackling to 50 in order to improve CPU run efficiency. This is partially because my defense has a lot of excellent tacklers. I have 6 guys with the Big Hitter trait and was causing too many fumbles, I think. I still might raise CPU Fumble another 5 points.

I've raised CPU INT by 2 points to 25.

So basically I'm using your base slider set and tweaked it due to my team being overpowered in certain areas. Here's a clearer view of what it looks like:

USER : CPU

QB Acc: 12 / 100
Pass Blocking: 10 / 10
WR Catching: 48 / 80

Broken Tackles: 10 / 0
Run Blocking: 15 / 55
Fumbles: 50 / 60

Pass Reaction: 60 / 30
Interceptions: 15 / 25
Pass Rushing: 0

Rush Reaction: 0 / 15
Block Shedding: 0 / 5
Tackling: 50 / 55

Here's a box score from my last game against the Rams. I have 2 defensive starters injured (RE, OLB) so my pass rushing wasn't as good as it could've been. Also, Hunter had a long garbage-time 58 yard run that boosted his YPC. Kaepernick also had a long 42 yard scamper, and LaMichael had a 26 yard outside pitch. Basically, it wasn't easy on the ground, but I had 3 big runs that inflated the stats, and essentially gave me the win. But it definitely felt as though it could've gone either way.

Here's another box score from the Divisional Playoff game I just played. As you can see, I had difficulty running with my HB, but Kaepernick just went off. I guess Green Bay just can't stop the option. Kaepernick had 2 option runs for 20+ yards, with a long run of 56 yards and a touchdown. Rodgers still made a few wild passes, even at 100 CPU QB ACC. Everything else was good. Green Bay actually played well offensively. Aaron Rodgers led his team on a few long drives, but he just couldn't convert on a few crucial 3rd downs, and they had three redzone turnovers, which halted any momentum they'd generated. The game felt a lot closer than the final score indicates.

LOL @ this and you're previous box score. Both teams you've been using for these past 2 games have had some really really good players on both offense and defense. That's probably why it is easy. Anyone can find the game "easy" when they're team is full of great players.

I'll give these sliders a try now and see how it goes. Thanks Wiz!

Overalls bw user and CPU balanced out nicely. We did a fantasy draft online cc and have young players whose overalls are low in comparison. My brother just had a good game , I will post results and change of sliders.

Still too easy for user player pass, probably to drastic of a change putting CPU pass blk to 75, D-line seem to not make many tackles so may need to change blk shed I guess.. Going to play my game with fantasy draft fins. Hope this helps

Defensive lineman shouldn't make a lot of tackles in most cases.

J.J. Watt (no surprise) leads D-Lineman in tackles with 81. That's 5 per game. As the leader of the position group in tackles. Brandon Mebane had the most for a DT with 56 - less than 4 per game. DEs make a few more than DTs (who make the least tackles as that's not their main purpose on the field), but neither make many tackles, especially compare to the rest of the positions.

Yea I agree. Im going to post a couple more games. My brother with the Cowboys killed me , my r.b. A.Peterson fumbled twice in 1st quarter, but I can admit he is better than me.

Re: M13 KILLER SLIDERS FOR OFFLINE CCM... GUARANTEED CPU RUN GAME

Had a good game against The Panthers last night using my Year 4 cardinals. I'll post up a box score when I get home. They started by running all over me, and win the help of a couple TO's they had a 13-3 lead. I manged to make it 10-6 and then scored a TD on a beautiful pass play to tie. I managed to shut down their run game and scored the go ahead TD in the 4th.
I may have to up the QB ACC for the CPU after a few games though if it plays like this game did. Cam only threw like 6-13 for a lack luster amount of yards. At this point in my CCM he has great passing attributes, so he should've been slinging it more, then again his WR corps sucks, so I'll keep playing 2-3 more games to see if that helps.
